Mine arrived at noon. Luckily I have a branch a (free) bus ride away, open till 4pm today. Awful weather but it got me out for some fresh air, and it gains me 17p extra interest compared with going in on Monday. :)

Cheques start clearing on a Saurday do they ????

    Yep, it is.

Oh, and some or all of the images have totally screwed up the entire board format for editing/quoting (in the green version, anyway). @Erik_V_EyeKing, even though you haven't answered the Q what your account says today, it is now clear there isn't any problem. Please can you remove those images so we are back to normal? Thank you

Erm, I did answer, I replied to you question & stated that they were images & they were not visible as there was some issue with the VM site. I then posted a screen grab with the others.

For brevity, it says the same as it did yesterday, just without the misleading & confusing adverts, for the reasons stated above.

Cheques start clearing on a Saturday do they ????

I think they take two working days, hence mine hopefully will clear as I was told, on Tuesday. It looks as if Saturday is included in working days (if it works out as I was told - I don't have much experience of cheque clearing).

No apparent advantage depositing a cheque on a Saturday.

"If a customer pays in a cheque on a weekday (Monday to Friday) and it is cleared via the new system, then they will be able to withdraw the funds by 23.59 on the next weekday (excluding bank holidays) at the latest."

This is the first month that Virgin Money is a just trading name of Clydesdale Bank, along with Yorkshire Bank and 'B'.

Apart from the new regular saver being online interest rate will drop to 2%
For me, getting this account would involve opening the account, setting up online banking with Virgin, setting up the feeding SO (involving two SCA interactions), and each month ensuring the requisite £250 was in the sending account in due time, all for £10 - £12 above what I'd get leaving the money in Marcus at 1.5%. So, thanks, but no thanks.

I wonder if there'll be in in-branch issue 20 in December?

You are choosing practicality over squeezing out the odd pound or two.

As I am. There comes a time. :)
