I visited the Haymarket branch this afternoon and was told by one of the staff that a new RS is to be launched tomorrow, Nov 1st. More importantly and interestingly, he said it is to be available online.
No further details, but this will be very good news indeed if it is accurate information. He seemed very sure!

I had an appointment on 12th November to open this account. I was called today by Virgin bank staff who cancelled it, as they said the account is withdrawn tomorrow. They said a new account that can be opened online will be available.

We have partial information. Rumour and hearsay maybe. But if it is 2% it won't arouse my interest or activity on my part. Decided 2.5% minimum a while back.

    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

    Nothing on the website yet.

If it's 2% I doubt I'll be bothering either. I shocks be going into the branch today to close the maturing saver, however I'm somewhat disabled (on a temporary basis) and it may prove too difficult and painful so I'll phone them to see if it can be done that way.

Back in the good ol' days it appeared at about 2:00 pm on the day of the launch.

Perhaps I should have said: There seems to be only partial information......

Thus placing the blame at no-one's door :)

One of those wonderful non-attributable generalisations so beloved by politicians et al.
  • I can confirm with 100% certainty (Have just spoken to them on the phone) that the interest rate will be 2%.
