Issue 4 Regular Saver is still 3% on their website?0 -
Hi Folks,
I cannot find the Monmouthshire BS 150th birthday regular saver bond on their website so I am going to leave it off the list on page 1 but thanks for letting us know about it. I have the Celebration Regular Saver Bond on the list.
I cannot see anything else that has changed for this weekend's update.
I will do the next update next weekend.

Whilst it did (does?) say you have to be in the area, they've been allowing applicants for their reg saver from outside for sometime..
There was no residency requirement with Saffron.
You either had to open the account at a branch, or to have held an account for 6 months (used to be 12 months) to open an account by post.0 -
I've had a Saffron account open for ages just in case I ever needed to apply for its 3.5% (now 3%) saver. Unless they changed the terms, they allowed people outside the local area apply for that as long as you held an account with them for at least 6 months, so for ages I've had an easy access account open with £1 in it. If the rate's now dropped to 2.5% then I guess I'll need to look elsewhere when my nationwide saver stops, probably HSBC, which I didn't want to do as it means another sodding bank account!
It doesn't matter to you, but for others, they've been allowing applicants for their reg saver from outside (postal) for sometime..0 -
Let say I managed to open HSBC RSA today 14/09/2019 and make the first payment. Could I change the SO to October 1, 2019 and continue this until maturity ?
IME, yes, but you wouldn't earn any extra interest, as HSBC would credit the funds to your RS on the 14th.
Can't comment on the SO source - other than ask HSBC.0 -

I got quite confused here. If you change the SO date from September 14 (after securing the Sep Payment) to October 1 on HSBC current AC they must credit the the fund to RSA on the same day e.g October 1, otherwise where does the money go in between ??
If my memory serves well I remember I tried to change the SO date on HSBC AC a few years ago but the system did not allow me to do that.
1. into HSBC's hands, earning them interest.
2. I changed the SO in branch, after asking the cashier if I could advance the SO - only finding later that the cashier was half-right - i.e. the SO collect would be advanced, but not the credit.0 -
I opened a new HSBC regular saver towards the end of August and using the live chat in online banking I got them to change the payment date to the 1st of each month. So yes you can change the standing order date.0
