Interesting....I was sure mine was second class and my husband agrees because he posted it for me. No matter, it’s all good and it got there in good time regardless.
As has been pointed out already the application process is being handled across branches and hence they are having a slightly different approach.
Fantastically efficient institution - if only all the Banks and BS we dealt with were as good.0 -
Hi Folks,
I have updated the following:
- Added in the Loughborough BS Save to Buy account in post 2 as it seems to have no maturity date and no particular limitations (does not require you to take out a mortgage with them or any other account); pays 3% variable on up to £500 per month, max balance £24,000
I will do another update next weekend.

At long last, Nottingham BS has just announced a new RSA: the "Member Rewards Regular Saver". However, at a far from generous 1.60% rate, this one certainly doesn't interest me.0

I was lucky enough to get my online application in before this method of applying was pulled. Posted my cheque for £300, with signed application form, on Wednesday 24 April, using reply paid envelope supplied. Received my passbook, and welcome pack, in the post this morning (Saturday 27 April). Very quick service. Initial deposit is logged in the passbook as 25 April 2019, so I assume that maturity date will be 25 April 2020 (but not confirmed in the letter accompanying the passbook, which would have been helpful).
No business card of the letter signatory attached to the welcome pack, as the letter states. Minor black mark there. Also, no details of the bank account for making deposits either in the passbook or in the accompanying letter. You have to look to paragraph 18 (page 7) in the "General Terms and Conditions for Savings Accounts" to find these details.0 -

I wish they'd re-launch their Tigers, Go for Gold or Sports Regular Savers, when they were 3%-4%.0 -

I thought about reducing down two of my regular savers to minimum to in order to open this but I think I'll leave it. They are both £200 each and so this would mean more of a commitment, and I'm already stretching myself with 5 regular savers. Also, it says it can only be closed at their head office.
Good account though. If I had a spare £500 a month I'd definitely open it because of the compounding over four years.0 -

I didn't get the business card either. But I did get an orange leaflet entitled 'Frequently Asked Questions about your Account', which included (on the back page) details of the bank account to make deposits.Stompa0 -

Can someone confirm that you can close the Loughborough BS RS by post? I live nowhere near a branch and the Summary Box says that closures have to be made at head office? Seems a bit odd if so.0
