I sent the email appeal on the 15th of Jan to CEL and have received no response, I know in the email it gives 21 days for them to respond but is it usual for them not to have responded by now?
CEL have 35 days to respond to an initial appeal - either with a cancellation of the charge, or a rejection f the appeal, enclosing a POPLA Code for you to use.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • I have never received a parking charge and coincidentally never been threatened with court action from anybody, I think I have a right to be concerned. I was curious as to how long people would typically receive a response.

Maybe I should have made that more clear, my apologies.
  • Hi Brasillia17, So to clarify - did you say 'yes' or 'no' to being the driver?

Have you been threatened with court already? Who by?

If you do get as far as court it's the county (civil) court and nothing to be concerned about at this early stage

You are disputing an invoice, that's all!!

  • My apologies again, my email on my phone made it look that way. No response from DVLA that response was from Steve Clark at British Parking.

I didn't proceed! I sent the appeal via email instead.

I was more referring to the email response I received from Steve Clark.

He took pains to make sure you understood he was not making a "threat"!

Ok, well it's not necessarily a threat but it is still quite concerning in context. Thank you though.
