I'm reminded of side to middle sheets when I was a kid. I hated them, the seam was always uncomfortable to lie on. You're tougher than I am GQ!

:) I never notice the middle seam. but I always catch the selvedges down with a widely-spaced zig-zag stitch so they don't runkle up and make a nuisance of themselves.

Have taken advantage of the weather and been sitting in front of the fire reading through hobby (membership of an organisation) magazines going back a few years. They're now in a bag waiting to go to a rellie who also likes to read them and from there they'll go into recycling. Still have one left from 2016 plus 3 from 2017 to read.

Friend's son got books down from top shelf for me today and now have a pile of read then donate and some of them may go direct to donate. Will go through them later.

Four sheets been taken out of airing cupboard - been stored up on top shelf for years not being used at all and now not looking so good. Will use them as dust sheets in new house whilst the work is ongoing.

:)oceanspirit, this may or may not be the issue with your sheets but white cotton can go yellowed and a bit peculiar if stored unused for years in a warm cupboard.

If this has happened to anyone and they want to resolve the issue, a 90 degree wash and line drying will mostly resolve the problem. HTH.

My mother used to sides to middle sheets with a run and fell seam which was really thick and lumpy. She wasn't known for housewifely excellence
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Youngest dds feet seem to have grown 2 sizes overnight and all her socks are too small. They are now all in the donate box in the attic and the 1- size-up socks are in her drawer. I like it when my system works, it feels like giving a buddhist prayer mill a push to keep it going, or some intricate, but non-electrical sorting macine :).
