Some time after that our dishwasher caught alight one evening. Fortunately it was easy to put out and we were at home.

Two years after it happened we got a letter from the supplier warning us of the danger.

Two years Charis? That's a long time.

I'm presently booking for all the vouchers received over Christmas, better use them or they will run out. It's quite nice knowing I have lots of treats ahead!

Had a (small-ish - 3.5yd) skip delivered on Friday and we have filled it with the kitchen and bathroom rubbish (old tiles, old broken units, old shower etc) Also some broken paving slabs from an old small patio. Shall phone them tomorrow for collection. Also recycled of all the cardboard packaging Garden and garage are looking much clearer

Using up various bits from freezer and cupboard for dinner today, too (cauliflower was bought before Xmas and has been sat in fridge since!)

ETA: - used up a Xmas present last night - voucher for the 2 of us to have a 10 course tasting menu & wine

To share my experience of "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" by Marie kondo was just awesome. Since my childhood I hated cleaning. I use to mess things everywhere. It was cleaned by mom. I didn't had any problem till she was with me. Last year, when she expired. I found it very hard to manage. Those were the most difficult days of my life. I had to do all the domestic work apart form my college. Messing up things made my life harder like finding keys or finding my joggers just before base ball match. One day my friend suggested me to read this book. Since he was very close to me, I bought the book. Following are few lessons I learnt:

1. Respect belongings
2. Fold clothes, but not to hang
3. Love whatever I do
4. End results matter
5. Rediscover my style

After reading Kondo’s book, I got totally sucked in. It turns out, tidying really may be the way to bliss. This what I learned.

Evening all.

A chance convo last Saturday with an acquaintance revealed that he is an enthusiast and has relations with a specialist museum, of a Thing which came from Nan's place 18 months ago.

It is a Thing of moderate historical interest to people into Things, but I found that the anticipated emotional attachment didn't manifest and it became a guilty burden. So, on hearing this chap talk, I decided to offer him the Thing and he's thrilled to bits.

I've made it clear that he can dispose of it as he will if it no longer brings joy, I'm releasing it fully, but he's chuffed and said if he ever parted with it, it would be to the Thing Museum his relation runs.

I fell particularly pleased that random chance had given me the perfect way to release the Thing (it's nothing sinister but is a bit of a RL identifier). Hooray !!!!!!!!!!!

It is so lovely when a thing that doesn't spark joy, goes to somewhere where it really does. :-)

My beautiful cocktail dress is getting recycled tomorrow. It's beautiful and I love it, but I never go anywhere to wear it and it is silly keeping it unworn. DH's black tie suits and morning suit are going too.

WHEN I get down to the weight I want to be, I'm going to gradually collate a casual, capsule wardrobe of ethically produced, natural fibre clothes. It won't be a waste, most of my existing clothes are very worn out!

I like the idea of a capsule wardrobe. Its time I Kondoed my clothes again, I have quite a few things now that I won't wear again.

We have a boiler in the process of being kondo'ed - no heating until Thursday :eek::eek::eek:

I hope the 'Thing' gives joy in it's new home GQ, sounds intriguing!

Kondoed a voucher today, lovely coffee and cake, a real treat after work on a Monday - I may now survive the week!

Sitting at my computer this afternoon, it went bang and a puff of smoke came out. Pulled all the plugs out. Now waiting on my computer bod coming tomorrow to tell me whether it'll have to be the last rites........


It'll be a complete pain if I do need a new computer as a lot of the software I run isn't compatible with Windows 10 and some of it now is expensive Adobe subscription stuff.


I hope if I have to have new we can sort something where I can run Windows 7 if needs be. It's my business computer and I have a customer deadline next week.........
