We Kondo'd a load of gunk that was blocking the waste trap of the en-suite basin, but having struggled to get the trap off (it's not one of the old fashioned U-bends unfortunately), we can't get the darned thing back on. It may be slightly cross threaded. OH damaged his hand several months ago and his grip isn't what it was. I've tried and although I managed to remove it originally, I don't have a strong enough grip to tighten it. We've looked at possibly removing the pedestal so we can get a good angle on the trap, but suspect that the plumber who installed it just stuck the basin to the wall with some silicone and it's resting on the pedestal. Our other basin we can see has some proper fittings, this one which is the same model, installed by a different plumber, they are missing.
Damn, will have to call the plumber (yet another one) on Monday. Trouble is if he can't fix it without taking the whole thing apart and screwing the basin to the wall, the pedestal will probably be in a slightly different position, and that will mean we have to replace the vinyl flooring.
I'm really pee'd off with the plumbers, we discovered last week that they never registered our boiler when that was installed, so will be an issue when we come to try and sell in a couple of years.Make £2025 in 2025

Daughter had to go out, she hid the tablets before she went and I got to spend a lovely morning with the children. Ended up sorting the toys and keeping the lot and then I quickly taught them pyrography while at the dining table. They each made a coaster, which we spray laquered and using a glue spray, stuck onto the same sized cork circles. My dgg also did a small pre-cut heart, they are so enthused now, asking when they can come again and want to scrollsaw the cutouts first. Followed by 1/3 hour on their tablets then a lovely lunch and a little more tablet time
My bedroom is completely feather free and I have no feather pillows anywhere and the windows were shut, I went into my bedroom while the children were busy crafting and picked up a curly white feather from my bed. Mar will know what I mean and so will anyone who believes that this white feather was a message from the departed. I do believe that my husband was approving of what the children were doing and they were delighted when I told them0 -
I don’t know about feathers Kittie, but I’m sure your husband is massively proud of all of you. Im convinced that my maternal Grandmother sends me the odd message when I’m trying to work out how best to help my Mum..

Slinky I have very poor grip and always struggle with things like that. I use a thing designed for opening jars, it's called a Baby Boa I think, it's like a big rubber band and you can tighten it by pulling the handle. I've used it several times to loosen/tighten plastic plumbing joints.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0

Slinky - maybe try to tighten it wearing rubber gloves? That way you can often get a better grip. HTHSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Oh yes feathers are definitely a sign, I am a firm believer in that. My granny comes to visit me as a Robin in the garden. I even named her Molly robin as I just know it is her but can't explain why. She always comes if I am scared or worried. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
My grandaughter had a kestrel sit on her bedroom window cill, two days after her grandad died and again a few days after that. My daughter was in the room too. Never had a kestrel in the area before then. Our much loved sister died and an other sister had a hugely big bird sit on her fence, staring for a long time into the kitchen window. Never had that before. My very sceptical friend had white feathers appear in her living room, shortly after her mother died. I saw white feathers quite frequently during the first year, whenever I was rocky about a decision that I needed to make or when ever I felt maudlin0

Kittie et al .. I know where you are coming from with the go on tablets scenario. However I have a confession to make. It is actually me at meal times that doesn't sit at the table with my daughters as I am always on the lap top etc. My youngest DD 'tells me off' so much so that my new years resolution is to sit down with them. I now do so for our weekend brunch.
When we are out or away i would never dream about going on the laptop and I do spend time with my children which is crafting, walks, sports and going the allotment. The youngest is 10 and loves art/craft, so much so that against KD rules we have 2 art drawers. One is the 'don't use anything here without asking first' as it may be for a project and the other is a 'help yourself' one!Don’t put it down - put it away!
