I use to iron tea towels as they fitted in the drawer better. Kitchen revamp and one of the few things I took from KM, I now roll them so they dont need an ironNow I iron very little and I have just realised I have 2 irons so one will be going on fr**gle this weekend - dont know why I never thought of it before:o Think I kept it in the belief that one of the DDs would use it for university - first one took it and it never came out of the box second one thought about it but hasnt taken it.........think they inherited their mothers attitude to ironing :rotfl:

Only joking, my dusters have probably seized up due to lack of use. Or run away from home to somewhere they're more appreciated.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Two carrier bags to the charity shop, managed to park in a loading bay with flashers on and dropped them in.
I've put seven Kilner jars in a bag for a friend. I haven't used them in this wee kitchen because there's simply no room for them in the rather small cupboards. My friend makes chutney as gifts at Christmas and has plenty of space to store the jars in the interim.
Still undecided about three earthenware casseroles. They're in the space formerly given to the Kilner jars. Lovely as they are, if I haven't used them by the end of April, it's off to the PDSA shop for them.
I have a large number of unused greetings cards accumulated over many years. I'm going to sort them by category and store them in large manila envelopes, so that I don't have to go raking through the whole lot every time.
I know what you mean Siebrie about certain times of year prompting thoughts of particular aspects of the old job. I have a sigh of deep luxurious contentment at the end of each quarter, that retirement has spared me from ever again having to collate quarterly stats (still unbelievably done manually - it was a real pain!)0 -

I do this, although my stash is rather small now. I took out several cards that I decided that I'm never going to use and they will be going to the charity shop.
I bought 2 lovely 50th birthday cards many years ago for my two daughters - this year I will be able to use the first one!
I cannot believe I will have a daughter who is 50 next month! However, I was a young mother - she keeps joking about when she retires, and we are pottering around, that people will think we are sisters and will say 'I wonder who the oldest one is?'Not Rachmaninov

Dare I talk about the compulsory lie-in on the first day of term? Bliss.
There is so much I miss but, five years on, I still delight in NOT having to sit through what was laughingly referred to as 'training' aka listening to the Head reading from an ohp slide.
Just as I decided that I should do something about about the unused breadmaker, my parents' machine gave up the ghost. Now they have a functioning machine and I have a nice gap.
Sorting out my craft stash was a lengthy process, but I am now far more aware of what I have - this week I turned two lengths of lace trimming and a fabric remnant into some dolls' clothes for the play group and I am plodding on with making xmas decs for future fundraising .I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
I had my introduction meeting with the outplacement agency, and I think it went well. I told the gentleman 45 minutes into the 1-hour meeting that he had to stop giving me information as my head couldn't deal with more info
. I have opted for doing the workshops (updating a resume, linkedin, interviews, etc) in a group, so that I will meet the same people every time, rather than picking workshops whenever I felt like it, meeting different people all the time. Now I have three weeks to fill out some online tests and check the online tools to help me choose my future carreer. He advised strongly against interpreting
, but maybe I can still study that out of personal interest.
I also took the time to properly look into my cellphone usage: calls, texts, and internet. Turns out, the maximim data I use is way under the cheapest pack on offer! I use prepaid and was paying €15/2 months, but can now pay €10/2months, or maybe even 3 months!
I have cleaned the cutlery drawer and found my coffee scoop again! Everytime I looked for it in the drawer, I just couldn't see it through the clutter.....Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590
