For those of you who are packing your garden waste down hard ... think of the bin men ! My oh did a stint as a driver with our local refuse dept , and his crew dispaired at the bins that were packed so hard that the automatic tipper thingy couldnt dislodge thecontents. All had to be done manually ! Not good with prickly plant bits
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..

Would you know, I was, rather surprisingly, a bit depressed after I was fired. Things I have done for the last 11 years in December and January (questionnaires and reports, so many reports) pop into my head, with al, the associated stress, and then the realisation that there is no need for stress anymore.

I still haven't found a good rhythm for my days, but I suddenly felt as if I would enjoy making our wedding picture book. I even bought a nice book in York, in Paperesque (I think it was called - lovely, mainly Asian, paper). I will hunt for all our photos this week, and pick the 50 best ones and put them in the book. The other pictures I will just throw out. Our wedding was only 11 years ago :)

If it makes you feel any better, I will have been married for 9 years this year and still haven't stuck the in photos that were intended for the guest book :o

House is a tip again, we shifted everything out of OH's very cluttered office at the weekend as we've had the plasterer in today to repair some blown plaster and skim the ceiling. I can only hope OH will be a bit realistic about his stuff when it goes back in.

I reloaded my office today with stuff we took out a couple of weeks back to decorate. Things are in more logical places, and I ditched some things related to my business which I was hanging onto for a variety of reasons. We want to move soon, hence the decorating, and I won't want these in our next house so they've gone. Just some hanging filing to sort out and an old briefcase I need to go through the contents of.

It certainly looks less messy than it used to, unlike the rest of the house.

After the trip: unpacked in 20 minutes. Backpack I brought along for carrying shopping: binned for being too worn out; 1 cotton handkerchief washed and put in ragbag; scones and hot cross buns frozen, to be enjoyed over the coming weeks; cs laura ashley dress (£15, sleeveless shift dress with small flower pattern, duck egg blue background) washed and hung to dry (the grey veil has only lifted a little bit, so I am now thinking about dyeing it light purple/green/blue).

Husband and dds had a good time in Paris; they arrived after me on Sunday, so I had dinner prepped. Unpacking their things took me about thirty minutes.

Plasterer did a really tidy job, just waiting for it to dry now. Windows have been open in the room all day with an oil filled radiator on lowish (the room radiator having been removed so the plasterer could skim behind it)

Took a pile of 'stuff' to the tip this afternoon and called past our local RSPCA to drop off a pile of towels. Some had been in a box in the loft for about 15 years......

Today I have refilled the handy shower gel bottle we keep in the shower from the very large and unwieldy bottle I keep in the cupboard under the stairs, which then could be thrown into the recycling bin. All the body washes, shampoos, conditioners, and body lotions now fit tidily in their cardboard box; not a single one is on top of the others or standing next to the box. So much more visually pleasing!

    :) Nice one, siebrie!

Was wiping my hands on the kitchen towel and my fingers went through the cloth, so that's one for the ragbag once it comes through the laundry again. It doesn't owe me anything, it was made from a length of terry towelling bought about 45 years ago! Real 1970s style print on it, too.

Am busily reading my books and getting them into the bag for donation, added a huge omnibus last night and immediately started a paperback, which will join it. Can now see some spaces on the shelf - does that mean I should dust the visible bits, lol?:rotfl:
