I'm not quite sure what to do with all the open paint/glitter/glue etc as I can't really give it to the CS but it seems a shame to bin it. Then again, I can't keep it cluttering the place up.

    Give it to a child minder/nursery/cubs/brownie group:D

ETA: oops people already suggested it!:rotfl::rotfl:

Does anybody know if Sainsbury's are taking Christmas cards this year? Need to go on Friday so they'll go there if they take them.

We've been kondoing a huge amount of fluff and dust today. We've got a decorator coming tomorrow to paint the ceilings in my office and sunroom so have dragged most of the furniture out apart from my desk and a filing cabinet which he says he can work round. Loads of dead woodlice, we've always wondered where they get in, but think we've spotted a gap under the skirting behind the filing cabinet, so will fill that with mastic before it gets moved back again.

I've identified some business paperwork which will be shredded over the next couple of days. It's not as bad as the last time I did it as there was about 5-6 years worth, now there's just the couple of years which have gone out of date since the last time I did it.

I'm hoping to rearrange the office a bit when it goes back together which may mean I can get rid of a small filing cabinet where the front of a drawer is falling off. It should help the room look a bit better in terms of photos, we're hoping to try and sell this year.

Cat is not impressed, there's 2 rooms of furniture spread across the rest of the house.

Greenbee - if the school dont want the pots maybe freecycle?

Doesn't work out here there - even the one in the city didn't seem that active last time I looked. Complete contrast to where I was before!

  • Feeling a bit under the weather with a cough and cold but felt justified in having a lazy day and binge watched a few of the Marie Kondo Netflix programmes. I really felt for the lady who had lost her husband and was clearing out his clothes. He was a really big man with big clothes and shoes and you could tell he was a larger than life character who brought a lot of joy to the family and was very sorely missed. It must be heart breaking to lose your life partner and I thought she was very brave to tackle her house and make space for the new chapter in her life. It's funny how our material things represent our lives and we put so much meaning on objects. Sorry, just got all a bit philosophical, time for another cup of tea :)

Lesson learned - do you know about the burrito method for changing the duvet cover?

Sieberie - skittles vodka is nice. I imagine it would work with gin too

All Christmas decs are down and hopefully into the loft before the weekend. I walked into the house yesterday after a couple of days away and it was wonderfully tidy. DD said "dad made us do it":T. (Dad had come back the day before me)...

    Onwards and upwards for 2019
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I am a widow and yes it can be very hard. It's been 4.5 years now and although I have dealt with his clothing and most of his personal effects It is only now that I feel ready to tackle the photos.

VJsMum. Yes I do the burrito method for duvets, but sometimes my fibro makes my arms ache, :rotfl: still I managed it.

Christmas decs down - weeded a few out and got rid. I'm a bit under the weather too. UTI. So probably won't do much for a couple of days - partly because the antibiotics upset me so much but hopefully will swing into gear next week.
