  • I've just been through my notes and shredded lots of stuff for the recycling bin.

I had my brother round and I gave him some tea, some boxes of herbal tea and some books. I also gave him some face cream that I don't use. He gets dry skin in the winter like me so hopefully it will suit him.

I brought the two bags of donations to a charity shop on Saturday.

I want to try and finish another book before the end of the month so that can go off too. I started off really well with my reading challenge, but have faltered a bit.

I have 2 bikes in a stable. One is full of happy memories, but was last used nearly 30 years ago. The other is for off road trips with the kids. I haven’t used it yet... I know what I SHOULD do, but I’m not sure I can’t make some ridiculous reason to put it off...

That’s the problem with stables, they do out of sight, out of mind, brilliantly!

Decided there is every point in eating healthier etc but that it is demoralising if the scales can't display a weight for longer than a split second. I did order a new pair but they are on sale, have a good set of reviews and free postage.

Mine did that.......then I changed the battery :rotfl:

The scales are solar operated which seemed like a good idea at the time :o

The new ones will be battery operated and hopefully more user friendly.

Are you sure there is no battery in there??? Worth a look.....The "solar power" is usually stored somewhere to use when there is no "solar"

fen, there are only 3 of us and the youngest is 70 but it is better for me to stay in my sec/chair position for when I move, there will be paperwork and companies house to deal with re share transfer and eventual resignation etc Today I did that first big KM of the files, got rid of a lot of old papers and now have a divided, labelled active file plus another with solid stuff like accounts, from here on it is relatively easy. Like lots of stuff, it was easy to ignore until now and ignoring it did me no good at all

I managed a nice (muddy) bike ride today and am still in my scruff, just having a very rare meal in a cup :D and will soon go and do a lot of shredding in the garage

Elona my neighbour today said that her solar watch had stopped and I do know that hardly anyone is getting power from their PV panels

It is interesting that solar gadgets are having problems just now. It is a very grey overcast day here.

I finally got all the cardboard boxes flattened ready to put outside for collection tomorrow and have some more wardrobe sorting out to do this afternoon.

My ex-husband has Alzheimers and his bike was stolen recently when he was in the local Building Society.

He probably just leaned it up by the door as he often forgets how to use the lock - he once walked home because he forgot how to open the lock.

He's ridden a bike all of his life, even to work until he retired through ill health. He only used it to ride locally since his diagnosis - he's too confused to go anywhere further. Losing it means he has lost the one thing he liked to do and was still capable of.

:( Those 'orrible little thieving ............. ! Words fail me, as if he didn't have enough to contend with.

Saw something on a newspaper site today, talking about how some crime categories are increasing, seemingly in response to policing resources being allocated differently. There was mention of bike theft being up 18 %.

Kudos to anyone with a stored but usable bike who plans to liberate it, may the blessings of all cyclists descend on you.

:o Guys, I know we've quipped about C-space, that phenomenon modelled on T. Pratchett's L-space (where all libraries are mystically linked to the magical library of the Unseen University via L-space).

C-space similarly links all cupboards and is my own adaption.

This afternoon, I opened my hall cupboard to see if I'd stashed the bike pump I've not needed for the past 3 months in the undershelf tray, something I have been wont to. As it happened, it wasn't there, it was in a box in the bedroom with a selection of cycling accessories such as the bike lid and high viz vest and bungee cords.

However, there was a bike pump there. It is a pump I have never ever seen before in my entire life. It isn't the original one which came with the stolen bike (freegled that years prior) and no pump came with the used bike I bought on Friday.

This is a small home, no one else lives here, and I have never seen this before in my whole life. I'm going dolally trying to think this out.

It must be C-space. Or quantum, or summat.

    Who knows?!

It's actually a bit disturbing to have possession of something you've never seen before, but in a place where you would keep that category of item anyway. I just can't get over it, where can it have come from?!
