This weeks numeracy planned and files sent to jobshare and homework decided upon and sorted. One of them is a talking activity. I'm not mean.

Flying wise I have stripped and remade one of three beds. And put sheets etc in WM. And put some ironed, aired stuff away.

I want a paper (my weekly treat); too slushy to drive, so I am debating going that way *points behind self* to paper shop/post office/local shop or t'other way *points in opposite direction* to local co-op. Which is further. But has reduced items. Which I don't need...

After trying to eat a biscuit (provided by Himself), the resultant pain - from eating on the other side) led me to call 111 for advice.

Roughly an hour ago, the very nice emergency dentist (who happens to have a practice a whole 350 yards from the house) clattered around in my mouth for about 2 minutes and the still perfect tooth was out. Thanks to the autoimmune stuff, the meds I've taken to knock my immune system down and because it was so close to the next one along, it was impossible to get floss or an interdental brush to clean one side/the gums, I had a periodontal abscess that has probably been there for years.

I'll let her sleep for the time being, though. She looks contented.

    ouch! poor you x

  • I thought I'd have something to eat that was soft, quick, no sharp, crispy or lumpy bits and insanely easy to cook. A cheese omelette. Can't go wrong with that, can you? Five minutes start to finish, minimal clearing up, nothing in it that could potentially dislodge the healing in the wound or get trapped and cause pain and further infection.

Thirty five minutes later, the smoke alarm heralded the presentation of a 2mm thick, charred, crispy thing adorned with big lumps of part cooked vegetable. After scraping the top and picking out the lumps, I got roughly a quarter of a teaspoon of something I could eat without worry of bits lodging in the wound.

He's now boiling potatoes because he managed to use half a dozen eggs in the process of making something entirely inedible.

And I had to tell him to take the potatoes out of the water and peel them first.

Sigh. I can't teach him to cook - I've rejected every other omelette he's ever made, explained how to make one and he's insisted that he knew what to do and that he'd do it this time - and I even said I needed something to eat that's soft on instructions from the dentist.

Bet he insisted on cooking because he knew I'd kick off over the kitchen if I went out there.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

  • Evening all. This week didn't quite go to plan. Kitchen was cleaned for the gas men on Wednesday but we ended up with a new gas meter, they were here all morning. I've managed little bits through the week but no where near as much as I wanted. Hopefully the next 2 weeks will be easier as DH is off for most of it.

I haven't done much today, made the children help with a 10 minute tidy in the living room and theyve done 15 minutes in their rooms before they were allowed on any games. I have done 5 (not quiet full but needed doing) loads of washing. What could go in the dryer has been dried, the rest is on the airer. I've got a wash basket full of odd items that want washing on their own, so next week's task will be to have 2 empty wash baskets by Sunday night! Just glad I don't iron!

Need to put dinner out and shower the little ones ready for school tomorrow.

3 more sales left the building. Hoping to make £500 by the end of the month.

Otherwise the house is a tip. I have no GUAG. We went for a walk in the snow this afternoon which cheered me up a bit. And means I have some hope of a bit more slinkyage when I report in tomorrow morning.

DW done, emptied, filled and started (normally one load per day only)
WM (DS1's uniform, fluffy pjs, DS2's shirts, socks and undies done so far)
put dry laundry away so I can dry more - mostly done
make work meals for DS1, including breakfasts - mostly done, but I only calculated for three days, when it's his longer week, so more to do tomorrow
make soup for me (and anyone who wants some) - not happening
plan tea - planned, cooked and eaten
put the rest of the shopping away and use up as much sad-looking fruit and veg as possible - sorted through the fruit and binned veg that was too far gone, but nothing used

I'm ok with this. If I average 2xWM per day this week, I should be able to conquer Mt Washmore. Still a few bits to do tonight (and things for the day job, too), but it's been ok. Not going out was the right thing to do.
