Huge congratulations to you and the baby's parents, mrs-mp :j
I am exhausted already - been awake since about 3.30 and actually up since 6.15, but Sunday lunch is cooking, DGD1+2 have had their long hair brushed and look quite charming (though I could happily have strangled DGD2 for waking DGD1 several times during the night), and we've all had breakfast. DS1 and DDiL1 are coming here for lunch, and then they'll go home. I have to go out just before 3 pm, and Rosie also needs a walk at some point - but it's sleeting now, which she doesn't like.
Just going to get my shower and dress, then all off to church.
Will see you on the new thread x0 -
Morning everyone
brrrr. Nippy one here - the birds will be looking for their breakfast (I stayed up late(r) last night so that I could finish reading my book - which is now in cs bag.) I don't see long tailed tits but my regular visitors are Freddie (wood pigeon), Harry, Mavis and their mates (sparrows), Mr & Mrs Blackbird, a robin, a dunnock, starlings, and, at certain times of year, rooks. One summer I had a pair of goldfinches visiting, and there used to be a pair of collared doves nesting on next doors satellite dish, but they've disappeared. I have had an occasional sighting of a great finch and a wren. I love my birds - the named birds are presumably descendants of the birds that used to visit when DS was small and I used to make up stories about them. (Mavis the sparrow was always a bit of a thug :rotfl:)
In daydreams where I don't have to work for a living I live somewhere off the beaten path (with a pond) and have chickens, ducks, geese, cats (that don't chase birds), dogs, as well as all the wild birds visiting my garden / vegetable patch / herb patch. (I'd have been dunked as a witch in the olden days I expect
)
Heyho - at least I live in a hovel :rotfl:
Sum total of my flying so far today is: made the bed and decluttered a cup of tea. (I am dressed, does that count?)
Round 1:
feed the birds
put out recycling
laundry shuffle + WM x 1
'Every little helps' said Eeyore, taking her little grey cloud with her wherever she went that frosty morning.

It's snowing here which wasn't forecast until later. So the rabbit hutch wont be airing all day as usual. I will leave it open for a while but I'm not hopeful. I was hoping to get these jobs done before it started
And I need to venture back out to do the car checks. Ugh.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Doing better than me roundtuit I am out of bed but still in my jim jams.
Congratulations MrsMP, lovely news.
And Donna sounds like one of my days. Hope today is better.
Had to pick DS1 up at 12.30am, very grumpy because I was really tired and it was -4 out. Slept very heavily so feel a bit groggy. No idea what the day brings, really want to clear out the last of the Christmas boxes and packaging out of my office but if the roads are bad it probably makes sense to stay at home.
Feeling anxious and restless. I really dont think the weather is helping, heavy snow forecast later and I have to go out in it early tomorrow. But then if I wasnt worrying about that I would find something else to worry about.0 -
Morning all,
I'm a grumpy ATB today. Fed up of the weather, kids are being rubbish at sleeping lately and DH is working. Roll on spring, like you YL the weather really affects my mood. It's just started snowing here now.
Need to get my bum into gear and do something. Maybe after this brew....
Oh, and DD spied some unicorn bedding in Next yesterday and has been nagging me for it since. Trying to explain new bedding isn't necessary to a 5 year old repeatedly- my patience is wearing thin!MFW

That's me down to a T.
Big congratulations, Mrs M-P!
Snow first thing, but I had to brave it to take DD to the station to meet her friend. Roads were horrible - think freezing cold, and rain falling on recent snow. And I get to do it all in reverse in a few hours time. Yay!
Just having a restorative coffee, then I must do something. All I want to do is curl up and sleep, as I have the house to myself...0 -

hello :hello: jim jams sounds good to me on a frosty Sunday morningI have a morning routine that I follow which (usually) enables me to get out of the door to go to work Mon- Fri (even when my mood is low and I feel like I'm pushing through treacle) and I follow it Sat/Sun too (just get up later
) to keep in the routine (if that makes sense).
Worrying is a terrible bind isn't it? I could probably get a Ph.D. in it some daysIf the snow is really heavy and the roads are bad could you postpone going out? I'm lucky, we are only forecast light snow followed by sleet, and my commute is short and doesn't involve any hills! ((hugs)).
Round 1 completed + pots placed in bowl ready for WUDUPA
Round 2:
- put pots in soak
- Sweetie's seed and water
- WUDUPA
And why have I got 'Birdie skips and never trips, Bump the elephant isn't quite so elegant' in my head? Random!!!!!

Me again:D
Round 2 completed + unloaded WM on to airer. No point in doing WM x 2 as there is nowhere to put it at the moment. Maybe later after a laundry shuffle or two
Just starting to snow here. DS stayed overnight in Doncaster - hope he goes steady coming home.

I have galvanised myself and:
- cleaned DW filter and put a cleaner thingy through it
- one load of washing over the heated airer
- WUDUPA
Also made our bed, bagged up a load of stuff to return to a friend and created a small recycling pile! Emptied loads of dregs of products away and aiming for using far less cleaning product wise. Will be using Zoflora, thanks to whoever mentioned that up thread.
Next job is lunch for littlies, then I will consider a shower and getting dressed!MFW

After trying to eat a biscuit (provided by Himself), the resultant pain - from eating on the other side) led me to call 111 for advice.
Roughly an hour ago, the very nice emergency dentist (who happens to have a practice a whole 350 yards from the house) clattered around in my mouth for about 2 minutes and the still perfect tooth was out. Thanks to the autoimmune stuff, the meds I've taken to knock my immune system down and because it was so close to the next one along, it was impossible to get floss or an interdental brush to clean one side/the gums, I had a periodontal abscess that has probably been there for years.
Have come home and taken two strong painkillers before the injections have completely worn off and Himself will be providing various bowls of soup, but even whilst they were doing it, I could feel the pressure ease off.
AND they only charged me the NHS Band 1 fee, even though simple extractions are Band 2. Maybe it's because they know the next bit, dealing with the rest of my fangs, is Band 3.
Have booked an appointment to go back there in a couple of days to assess what else needs to be done.
In the meantime, have swished over the upstairs bathroom, despite Idiot Cat's decision to roll himself up in the bathmat and fight anything that approached, retrieved the exfoliant glove from Idiot Cat, sterilised the tooth brush charging base and agreed to groom and possibly nip off the ends of the Floofy Cat's claws as she's walking like she's in high heels and is constantly catching herself in Himself's legs.
I'll probably need more emergency medical treatment when I go near Her Majesterial Floofiness' Holy Paws. It's the one place she will never permit you to touch. But she looks uncomfortable.
I'll let her sleep for the time being, though. She looks contented.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
