LW - I've just remembered. Microfibre cloths are fab for cleaning/drying short-haired dogs. I use it dry if ours is just wet and damp if he needs cleaning as well.
Snow stopped play (wasn't forecast here at all, Valli) - well, at least it's stopped DS2 and me going shopping in Sheffield. He'll have to make do with his waterproof a while longer.
It's slowed down now and should turn into sleet before long. Don't think there's a chance of a snow day.
I've been to church and made porridge for breakfast. Time to get going and do something constructive. Laundry, cooking and meal prep this afternoon.
DW
WM as many times as I can fit in
put dry laundry away so I can dry more
make work meals for DS1, including breakfasts
make soup for me (and anyone who wants some)
plan tea
put the rest of the shopping away and use up as much sad-looking fruit and veg as possible0 -
put sawdust and bedding in hutch.
searched for (mostly) white rabbit.
found him on snowy garden.
Evidence in snow on road that a car got up the slight incline outside my house then failed to get any further - and it's not THAT deep!
And  moment...was sitting on my bed texting colleague and noticed bloke across the road park on his drive. Car had other ideas...after he had gone indoors it slid back into the road! He could not get it back up drive (again not steep) so he parked in the road. It has stopped now; warmer weather is forecast. Doubt we'll get a snow day.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

That's good going, pigpen. DW, WM (x2) and dryer are on. Towels and undies put away. Litter tray done. Lunch decluttered. 40 winks now, because I can't keep my eyes open.0

House smells of oranges but the marmalade is made and jarred up. Washing up x zillions done, and stickiness from every surface removed. I think.
Ironing pile tackled. I won.
Just having a cuppa then up to start The Photo Sort. DD has texted to say that they are not on the 2pm train. I had hoped to avoid the horrible trip to the station in the gloom but sadly not to be. At least it is now raining rather then snowing.0 -

Currently I have a list of at least a dozen things that are jostling for precidence in the worry stakes.LW - I've just remembered. Microfibre cloths are fab for cleaning/drying short-haired dogs. I use it dry if ours is just wet and damp if he needs cleaning as well.
Sasha's just been collected by her owner, who was at her son's wedding yesterday, hence needing Sasha looked after for a couple of days. I have no-one else booked in til 22nd February, so the bungalow is going to feel very empty for the next month. It's a quiet time of year - not many people go for holidays in January/February!
Sasha has been [STRIKE]helping[/STRIKE] supervising me in the kitchen; we've constructed a nut loaf and a "strapple" crumble, which I will bake shortly (timing it to work in with the veggie toad-in-the-hole we have planned for tonight's dins so that I only have to heat the oven up once).
I will set the WM up tonight ready to switch it on first thing tomorrow; the doggy tea cloth can go in with the load, as well (I keep one tea cloth I just use for dog bowls). If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi all
Yay Pigpen well done. And JoJo ouch, hope it's not too sore.
Thanks for the kind words about my worries, there is no-one else I can talk to so its lovely to have people who understand. I have a very mild medical condition and following my last blood test have been called in to see the doctor. I will mention my anxiety but I am reluctant to take medication, having been down that road before.
Snowing steadily here, it's supposed to turn to rain later. Fingers crossed.
Have sorted through a load of cardboard boxes and flattened them into one box, looks better. Oh and DS has thrown out a load of old school books and I have sorted through them so they are ready to go in the recycling bank. Treated myself to a new gym bag last week (the old one was too small) so have transferred some things into it and found a new washbag I was given for Christmas.
Just pottering really but it feels productive. Leftovers out of the freezer for tea. Made a lentil and bacon cannelloni recipe a few weeks ago which wasnt all that nice and half of it went in the freezer. No-one else will eat it so either I finish it off or it goes in the bin.0 -

I have a pounding headache again.. and I am really tired for some reason. Probably a lack of caffeine and sugar lol.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
