Crashy mate, that was on another thread and I was stating a fact, not saying I was totally unaware of what my house was worth. I hadn't looked it up on Zoopla to see what it was worth! I looked it up to prove how crap the sites are! I knew what the value of my own house was worth thank you very much - and the value of the one I bought. I've followed the markets in both areas for years :rolls eyes:

Talk about desperately clutching at straws...

Post #8 on this thread. If the public visit these sites and don`t know if their valuations are out a 100k here or 100k there, as you said on this thread, it just underlines that the public don`t have a clue about value, these sites wouldn`t exist if they did.

That'll teach me to search for '100' and not 'hundred'. I quote that a lot on here when someone asks how reliable they are.

'The public' is far too wide a term. Maybe 'the occasional clueless person who has never looked at RM to see what they might afford or what houses in their area have sold for'. It's not rocket science. I can understand someone querying it if it's say £20k or so out, wondering if it's accurate, but not £100k - I don't remember anyone being that far out when asking on here about such 'valuations'! Surely 'the public' aren't that stupid/deluded...

IMO many are, or those property sites would have to be a LOT more accurate if they wanted traffic to their website.
