    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 48

Today's the day we set off today for a weekend of celebrations for both stag and hen parties. I wonder where they got their names from.

We had to wait until our children had finished at school and teaching practice observations before we could set off so we didn't arrive in Yorkshire until 11pm. SO tired

Our spend for the day was fish and chips in Truro to fuel us up for the journey

    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 49

Well the day has arrived - pre wedding celebrations :j

What an AMAZING day we all had.

My hubby set off to Newcastle and had a great lad's day go - karting and a BBQ.

Us chicks stayed in a bunk barn for one night and had a Harry Potter themed day which was SO much fun.

Organised by my 3 daughters, they put so much time and effort into it and it went spectacularly well.

The only downside was that we went out to a country pub for a meal and sadly it was one of the worst meals that I have had the misfortune to pay for.

However the day was MAGICAL and of course was a relatively high spending day

    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 50

Today it was time to travel home and say goodbye to all of my daughter's friends and work colleagues, not forgetting family too.

They were all so lovely and an awesome time was had by all.

It should have been a NSD day today but one of my daughter's Uni friends had a pop socket on her smart phone and it was an amazing little bit of kit so I have bought one.

Bit of a treat but at least it wasn't stationery for a change :rotfl:

    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 51

Once again, I expected today to be either a LSD or a NSD but I got caught up in the Reduced To Clear spider's web at Tescos :rotfl:

I picked up a lovely 1/2 shoulder of lamb and that wouldn't have been too bad.

Then I went to the dedicated RTC section at Tesco and they had bottles of Campo Viejo Cava reduced from £12 a bottle to £6.60 a bottle.

We bought all that they had....13 bottles :o

In my defence we have my GD2's christening this coming weekend as well as wedding celebrations and I thought they would make very nice Christmas presents for our friends and their families too.

I thought we could write something like...
2018 was such a fantastic family year for us, celebrating two weddings and a Christening.
We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a very special 2019.
    Cheers!

    What do you think?

    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 52

Just a cheeky shop at Sainsbury's this morning - just under £30.

We just had too many points coupons that we couldn't ignore especially spend £10 on Tu clothing and receive 8p off a litre. With a long road trip back up to Yorkshire this weekend this will come in extremely handy

For the clothes, we bought my husband 2 very nice shirts for New York and he looks gorgeous in them :D

We also had triple points as well as £4.50 off wys £30 so it was a no brainer really :D

Also on Nectar.com we had a triple pointer as well as 5x points on Tu clothing. The final bonus was 60 extra points on Quorn nuggets.

Picking up the Lego stickers, I think that was a VERY successful shop

Well almost the end of the month and only two food shopping days done which I am pleased about.
No shopping food wise until at least Monday when the new month starts

I am getting a bit more room in the freezer at last. Enough at the moment to more than last over the weekend.

I am off up to London tomorrow to go and do a little bit of present buying with my eldest DDs ma-in-law Our mutual DGS lives in the U.S. and so we have to get his and his wife's presents early so they can go with DD next month when she goes out to visit them(saves a fortune in postage :)) so cash will be spent :) but as we buy them 'token' gifts it won't be a great deal.We tend to buy stuff to remind them of the UK :)

Well done TM6 on getting through two thirds of the year on the fiscal fast Its surprising how much you can spend less with a little bit of thinking first

    Cheers JackieO xx

How did your London shopping trip go Jackie? Did you manage to get your Christmas presents ok?

Hi there yes both myself and Margare,t my DDs ma-in-law had a great time and we bought a pair of snuggly PJs each for our DGS wife Hayley as it gets pretty cold in NYC, and thermal Tee shirts for our DGS Dan and a thick wooly hat for him as well and I also popped a packet of four polo mint tubes inside the hat as he loves them and its a little bit of home for him.

We had a smashing lunch in a small cafe called The Giggling Sausage and for the two of us it came to £10.00 which was really reasonable.

I went and got my first food shop of the month on Monday and spent £30.96 and have enough to last me at least 12-14 days hopefully :) about a third was fruit and lots of veg as I find I can cook quite a bit with jiggling the veg about a bit I quite like a veggie curry or even a veggie lasagne and if I make a big one it will do me a good four meals so no more food shopping for awhile at least :):):)

  • I love the idea of the wine as presents TM6. I'm all in favour of giving consumables for presents.

I have to ask - 'bunk bank'?

    Fiscal Fast - Part 2 - Day 53

A bit like.. What time is it? .... Chico time

What day is it....Car boot sale day :j

It was very mizzley down here (mizzle, a mix of mist and drizzle) so the field was only a third full (or two thirds empty :rotfl: ) We were VERY late looking around even though we had arrived early. We sat in the car and watched via streaming, the auction of Bargain Hunt items in aid of BBC Children In Need. I did bid but I didn't win anything as the bidding on the lots went far too high. Hopefully within the next month or so we will be able to watch the auction on the TV.

I also bought a little present off Amazon in readiness for our trip = a selfie stick. I don't like my own picture but I think we will find it really useful in the tourist hot spots

Anyway, back to the cbs, unheard of we spent just under a tenner and it is all for re-sale.:D
