Your right about that TM6 as I am only 5'4" ,I haven't got a chest freezer though as if I did I would probably end up inside it I never use a big trolley at the SM for that reason. If anything is needed off the top shelf I have to find a tall handsome chap and smile daintily at him
(always works )
I have enough salad to do me tomorrow so I may have to unlock my purse on Thursday or Friday to get some food shopping.
Still have a good amount of stuff in the freezer and what I buy will be basic nessesities
At the moment on my list I only have UHT milk and bran flakes to buy, no doubt it will be more .I found quite a bit of frozen beg in the freezer so not too many veg to buy but probably some fruit as I am also running a little low on that, down to four apples and one orange at the moment
I am away on holiday for the first week in June so I am watching carefully what I am buying in this month as I certainly don't want to bin anything

In my experience, what sets the DD amount is the statement amount, not whatever you owe on the day it is taken. Hopefully you won’t have caused yourself a problem.
I have a couple of different strategies you could try, to manage your credit card. The first is what I do: every time I make a payment on my credit card, I immediately log into my bank app and transfer the money over to the credit card. That way, my balance is always zero and I don’t owe them any money at any time. The second is similar but rather than paying off the card immediately, transfer the money you’ve just spent to a savings account at the same bank to earn a little bit of interest and then transfer that money back on the same day the direct debit is taken.
HTH.

This I shall have to watch Just got a text saying they will take it out on the 17th
See I don’t get that the billing period ended 26th but they aren’t taking money until 3 weeks later. That’s the bit that worries me0 -
A super LSD.. almost minuscule :rotfl: Just a £1 at my local charity shop at work for an item that is for resale on ebay. Dead chuffed :j"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0

Fiscal Fast Day 115
I had a real financial tug of war going on in my head as to whether to go to my regular car boot sale - Rosudgeon as we had had such a brilliant booty at Hayle at the weekend. It really was a shall we, shan't we.
Anyhoo, shall we won but with SO much to list we were even more careful with our purchases than normal. We bought 3 items to list and a few items for home.
A Tesco shop on the way home of £3.24 and a very good low spending day was had by all.
How is everyone else doing?"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
TM6 why not set up online banking for your cc then when you use it you can pay it off straight away? Or use another current account to transfer monies spent on the cc into that the dd will go out of?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Thanks Floss but I don't have a credit card and will not get one, too much temptation
In fact, if at all possible I now use cash as I seem to have a far better control over it"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
Fiscal Fast Day 116
Another super low spend day not on food shopping but on stamps to post our ebay out.
This week has been particularly good for very low spending as we have spent VERY little on food and nothing this week on entertainment.
I am feeling VERY positive at the moment that we can do this (it has been a bit of a financial /emotional roller coaster) and half way through the month our bank account is looking extremely healthy.
Thank you for all your support / encouragement - without having to hold myself accountable on here our savings would not look SO good "One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
Fiscal Fast Day 117
Wahoo another NSD :j
AND 3 of our ebay listings are currently showing a profit of £25 on a £7 outlay. Now if we can continue to sell like that, our spending money for NYC will be superb :j"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
TM6 great going with your profits, one mans rubbish is another's treasure
.and having a aim to go for with your surplus is another good idea and helps you focus on what's essential and not just buying for the sake of it.
I did well with my food shop and this month so far have spent only £16.12 on essential stuff that I had run out of.
My holiday funds benefit from left over cash from my monthly budget so its win-win.No more food shopping for me for about at least a week, today as rain is forecast I shall be baking some biscuits and a cake for the tin. I may make a small quiche as well as I have oastry in the freezer to use up, so a quiche made from odds and ends in the fridge will be handy for lunch or salads over a couple of days.

Fiscal Fast 118
Another LSD with just a few bits we bought at Sainsbury's (and needed) which we had extra Nectar points coupons for
Also a £1 in Tesco's for their 4 demi baguettes for a £1.
We love these baguettes especially as they freeze well and taste so fresh when you crisp them up again in the oven.
Also advance purchased a cinema ticket for a screening of 'Lean On Pete'
Not sure this is a film I would have booked myself but my friend wishes to see it.
I'll let you know later what we thought of it.
I am still very pleased with how the fast is going "One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0
