We ate out today and our steaks were too big so we've bought home half of each one and we'll probably have that tonight in a sandwich! I love a steak sandwich.
I definitely wasn't going to let the restaurant throw the steak away!

joedenise - the poor waiter/waitress - no lunch for them :rotfl:
The hm lasagne & hm peperonata from the freezer heated up very nicely & was delicious

Just cooked gammon in coke, in the slow cooker.
Wondered what you do with the cola when the gammon is cooked ?
Thank youIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Can I join in again. I went AWOL at the end of last year due to health problems but I was mended five weeks ago (open heart surgery) and now starting to enjoy life again.
My daughter says I've enough food and tins to last at least six months so my new challenge is to prove her wrong go for at least eight months before I buy anything major (I do buy or produce my meat by the carcass on a yearly cycle so I know I wont have to worry about that)
It's all the small things, odd tins, frozen leftovers where I need to be creative. One added challenge is that I have a very traditional DH, a definite meat and two veg, plus pudding person. I do normally try and grow quite a few vegetables so once they start coming on line the challenge should get more interesting.
I just want my bins to have very little in them.0 -

Hi everyone,
silver-oldie, how about using it as toilet cleaner:o
Saturday night’s dinner was sliced beef from the freezer, with mashed potato & gravy & frozen carrots & green beans - very tasty:drool: lo mash & veg will be fried up with a fried egg on top for DH lunch on Monday
Sunday night’s dinner was all from the freezer - hm potato & Stilton soup, hm Stilton & bacon scones with hm Focaccia croutons. Delicious & sooo thrifty :money:
I now have two completely empty drawers in the 2nd freezer. Need to go through the kitchen freezer & put together some meals to create space for the rest of the food from the 2nd freezer which can then be defrosted & cleaned. Then the whole freezer merry go round can start again!
Tomorrow I must do lots of baking - need puff pastry for the chicken, bacon & mushroom pie filling from the freezer & extra puff pastry for an hm pizza, crumble mixture for bramley apples. Also want to try my hand at hm hobnobs from another thread plus we need bread  The handy thing is I will stay warm without putting the heating on :j

I too chuck the used cola down the loo over night to clean it rather than throwing it down the sink

Found a lonely orange in the fridge so I'm going to make 'Sussex Pond Pudding' but use an orange instead of a lemon - hope it works.0

I chuck the cola down the sink, i'm afraid. I wouldn't want all that grease in my loo. I have made the soup, but it was too salty and i couldn't eat it.I wanna be in the room where it happens0

I had to scroll back to see what was meant by 'used cola', luckily it isn't what I first thought it meant!2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
