In my experience, Barclaycard have offers every month, just log into your online account and check.

My last Barclaycard offer for December was for money transfer for 12 months for 1.9% fee.

liviboy the posts you linked to are 4 years old, I would imagine times have changed now. You can most definitely make money transfers to ANY bank account, you are not tied specifically to paying the money into a Barclays current account. When Barclaycard send offers they send them via post, email and they also show up in your online servicing section. You can even see from the most recent e-mail they sent me, they don't specify it has to be paid into a Barclays account:

Tesco credit card I think I have received 1 money transfer offer from them last year and it was for 12 months at 3% fee.

Halifax/Lloyds used to send decent money transfer offers about every 2-3 months. The last one I got was for 21 months with 1.5% fee.

  • Virgin Money also regularly give money transfer offers to existing cardholders; at the moment I have two for different lengths of time with a 1.75% fee and a 3.5% fee respectively.

I know this is a wee bit old...

However just wanted to confirm my new offers from Barclaycard have now went live on my account and I can, indeed, transfer to current account online without the need for a letter!

    Much improved system!

Barclaycard do...but generally you can only transfer online to a Barclays account. If you want to transfer to another bank you need to call them up, so a bit of a faff!

This is not correct. You do not have to have a Barclays bank account but the account you are transferring to has to be in your name.

My MBNA card has a permanent MT and BT offer on. Its 0% for 12 months BT with a 3% fee, and 0% MT for 12 months with a 4% fee. The 4.9% offer is for a much longer period..three years if I remember correctly. These offers have been available online for years for me, and they keep reminding me.....every month.....by email and letter!

Mine too, though they did offer me a 37 month MT and BT transfer a couple of years ago, which I did take them up on at the time :T - had my card for a decade.

I had a Tesco Bank credit card two/three years ago and received a mail shot offering a Money Transfer but that's the only one I ever had.

With Barclaycard it tends to be hit and miss; periodically I'll get Money Transfer offers but seem to get Balance Transfers more often.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.
