Realise the 'pack' ones are better value but for the purpose of the initial post (kind of) I though the fact there's "no clean up , no pan and no mess" would be the order of the day here for a quick snack provided you have boiling water. :) Empty pot into recycling and just a single utensil to wipe off. Job done. :D
Ah - y'see I'm taking your idea of the cheapest nastiest pot brand, but trying to add the simplest possible DIY element without the faff for flavouring ala packet brands. I might hve gone a little overboard though - my excuse is 21mg of dexamethasone steroid injected this afternoon which has made me shall we say a little jittery. More brandy I think...

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

Yes I was merely thinking of avoiding a pot/pan/bowl to have to wash out really. :D

    No problem. Understandable. :)

Ah yes, working on the assumption that you have a stash of previously used pots, though I think I'm losing my original plan now I try to explain it further (that'll be the J Frank Parnell effect). It's Manic Thursday now a traditional day of mayhem in my chemo cycle. I'm banned from the garden, so I'll try to keep it down in here :-)

I just nuke a pack of noodles in a pyrex jug, then eat them from the jug with a fork. I find the jug handle makes it a handy way to hold the jug, rather than a bowl which needs to be sat down. Once eaten, the kettle's full of boiling water so it's a small squirt of liquid and fill the jug with water and leave it in soak in the sink until later (often the day after) :)
  • I've had some sparkling water with lemon and a passion fruit yoghurt and a banana.

I'm going out to eat tonight at a vegan restaurant.

I will probably have something else before I leave obviously. I might have a chickpea salad. Today is going to be a healthy day!:A

  • Pleased to report experiment with Branston great success. I just made one portion in case it was awful - 200 ml lo stock, 1 tbsp Branston, 1 onion chopped, cooked in heavy frying pan for 20 mins till reduced. Checked taste, all good, so poured over 2 sausages and veg. Actual recipe used 3 tbsp and 3 onions 500 ml stock and pack of sausages all in slow cooker. Freezable so will make again and freeze 3 portions.

Rehydrated dried mushrooms were fantastic in leek pasta dish - 3 leeks, 300g pasta, 4 rashers bacon, 1/2 jar of mushrooms soaked in hot water for 20 mins, 200g peas. Makes 4 very decent portions and can't freeze so only suited to those like me who don't mind having same lunch 4 days running and have access to microwave :D

I will try adding the aubergine pickle to next batch of aubergine casserole (currently have 2 portions in freezer which used up the end of the gherkins).

So getting through stuff left by ex lodger :D

Now that's a fantastic idea. As I can only use one hand, and given the size of packet instant noodles I can only use one bowl (a pie dish actually) but drinking that last bit of soup base can be fraught with danger. I've got my gran's pyrex jug but it's too small... ...additional thinks - some kind of teapot ?

    I'll stop there.

  • An orange coloured thigh from freezer, been there ages, and will have a mini corn on cob plus stuff. Got bread dough in BM so will make some rolls for freezer and a small loaf to slice and freeze some.

Into town after breakfast, another lovely sunny but cooler day

I needed to stock up "bits" because of last weeks holiday my stores were a bit low

Icelnd milk & Flor@ on offer, plus YS cheese & onion slices, plus YS mini pig pies. Two days meals sorted right there

Mooch in 4sda, I "needed" to buy Ke££og granola, never had it before but there's a deal on, buy it, upload receipt & get you dosh back. :money:
It was £3 for a tidgy pack, but the refund is even now zinging it's way into my bank so don't care. As I said, never had granola before, and at that price I'll never have it again.

Lettuce has gone daft, W8rose is 10p cheaper than 4sda's manky ones.

Topped up with diesel, again daft pricing, I used Sainsb, it's 8p litre cheaper than other Sms around here, how can that be? I'd expect a penny maybe

Lunch was a couple of mini pig pies + mustard, followed by a fake Pen6uin

Dinner, must be one the YS C & O slices, with salad & probably frozen chips

Thanks all for the song title, that was it, dragged back from listening to Two way family favourites on the wireless waiting for Sunday dinner

Just chuck the noodle into the kettle, one pot, drink last bits from spout:D
    I'll get me coat:p

Potentially acceptable with a kelly kettle (though setting fire to pine cones in the kitchen isn't). Once my legs are working sufficiently I think there's a trip to tk maxx on the cards to solve this conundrum
