    Good morning everyone,
Hope you're feeling better today Fire Fox.
My plans to garden this morning have been thwarted as it's raining:(, I have plenty I can do indoors so won't be bored.
"Operation Sourdough" gets properly underway today :), it is a faffy process but if the bread is half as good as the one my son's fiancee made I'll be happy. Most of the work is done in stages today and then it will go in the fridge overnight before I bake it tomorrow. I'm going to part knead it in the Kenwood as I'm not sure I'm up for standing for a huge length of time to do it by hand.

Lunch will be pork pie salad but I've not decided on what to have for dinner tonight.
  • I love watching the celeb chefs and yes, love the "cook it in 15 or 30" mins, but, I do not have some-one doing my prep, cleaning work surfaces and washing up everything afterwards. Does take a tad longer in my opinion.

I always find butternut squash a nightmare to prepare.

I don't know what was wrong with me yesterday. I thought it was Tuesday until about 11 last night. I was ready to go to my Chinese herbalist this morning on the wrong day.:p My husband has moved around his shift pattern so I assume that was what confused me.

Oh well, nothing to do today apart from do my walk as I did a load of washing and also vacuumed the whole house yesterday.

    Morning all!

Yesterday was a productive day. I taught in the afternoon, then had a coffee in Sainsburys caf! for an hour, before going to tutoring for 5pm. Decided there was no point going home from school, only to hang out for half an hour, before coming back to the same bit of town I'd just left! I figured I'd probably save myself time, and money, by having a coffee, and only doing 2 20-minute drives, rather than 4 of them. Ended up having that second pizza for my tea, but it was a much more manageable size for one, and was really tasty.

This morning I'm catching up with some jobs, including the washing up dating back to Sunday morning... I'm normally pretty good about washing up every day, so I'm a bit cross with myself for letting it mount up. I've just had it soaking in a bowl of steaming hot water for the last hour or so, so I'll go and tackle it in a minute.
Both the kitchen bin, and the recycling need emptying, so I'll do that as well. Then it'll be an early lunch, and off for another afternoon of teaching.
This evening, my choir starts back up again after the Easter break, but I don't have to leave for that until 6:30, so that gives me plenty of time to have a proper tea. I'll try and sneak in a quick shower to wash my hair as well. Should have done it yesterday, but CBA, and can't get away with leaving it another day!
Because it's fun to have money!

I just had half a tin of baked beans with a roll and half a banana for breakfast. The other half of the banana was bruised.

I'm making roasted chickpeas for lunch and a Quorn stir fry with rice for dinner.

I'm having two tangerines as well.

I felt hungry so I made a chickpea curry instead with biryani paste and garam masala.:A It smells really nice cooking. I had to use up some sliced mushrooms as well. There are loads in there.

I could do with your rain Caron, dry as bone here which is not good for summer ahead
Is the razor a cut throat Sweeney Todd type?

Never used one myself but I do remember watching my Granddad shaving with one & sharpening it on a leather strop, he used to show us how it would slice a newspaper if really sharp
Daft how you can buy one readily but not a kitchen knife, as all who are watching Line Of Duty can testify, you can do lot of throat slashing with one of them:eek:

L's on way to "work", nothing YS worthwhile but bought the necessaries, like milk, eggs, individual apple pies & bar of nut chocolate. The last two may not count:o

Lunch was cheese & piccalilli sandwich
Dinner, dunno, I did buy some baking spuds in L's so maybe a cheese filled one of them + salad?

It is indeed:eek::eek:, though with removable razor blades rather than one that needs sharpened:cool:.
"Operation Sourdough" is progressing nicely, just off to to shape it and get it in the fridge overnight:).
The weather is still miserable though yesterday's sunshine has germinated my kholrabi, calvo nero and pea seeds:). I decided that in view of the weather and it being rather chilly that it's bangers and mash for dinner with onions, mushrooms, green beans & gravy.:D

Sourdough loaf is in the fridge to prove - definitely a different beastie to handle than my usual HM bread so doubt it will win any awards for shaping:rotfl::rotfl:. It's very soft dough which makes handling it challenging but the dough "feels" good so fingers crossed it doesn't go to pot overnight.;)

Those cut throat razors make me cringe!

I actually cut my leg for the first time in years when I was using a safe razor the other night. I dread to think what I would be like with one of those ones.

I cut myself on the most blunt bread knives or opening packets with a sharp edge.

I'm so clumsy. It's why I never bothered to learn to drive.:rotfl:
