Great, I was looking for offer leeks for more soup, problem solved

Ooooh really? I am returning the favour then, because your post (above) reminded me to get shallots from Lidl! :T

Tomorrow I need to make a soup and/ or a salad to use up less-than-fresh veg.

I have now made a Waldorf-ish salad (red cabbage/ celery heart/ green apple/ golden sultanas/ hazelnuts) and raw mushroom salad (chestnut mushrooms/ spring onion/ raw garlic/ vinaigrette).

Used about half of the target veg (cabbage/ celery/ spring onion).

Then pan-fried salmon fillets with tikka masala paste. Odd combo with the salads, but it needs using!

Absolutely shattered now. Had a caffeine boost and cracked open a bottle of New Zealand white .... still got fruit and vegetables to prep for the freezer.

I'd defrosted four frozen sausages, which meant I was obliged to eat them.

But I also had milk to use up.

I didn't want a toad in the hole.

I ended up making a big yorkshire with the milk and filling it with baked beans for lunch.

Tea was then chips, mushy peas and sausages.

I've still got 1½ sausages cooked/in the fridge, for tomorrow....

Also scoffed: 8 pieces of chocolate, 2 chocolate oat biscuits and half a sausage.

    Good evening everyone,
Glad you had a lovely holiday flubberyzing:)

    Good SM haul Fire Fox:)
Shame about the currants Farway:( hopefully they'll recover
Bangers here tonight too PN:), I was going to make another stir fry but now going for a sausage/roast veg oven bung it in.
The weather has been lovely here this afternoon but I didn't get a great deal done in the garden. Although my cold is lifting a bit the dreaded "wonky donkey" has had a few experimental kicks so I'm not really feeling like moving or standing too much. I hope it settles before the kids arrive. Still it was a perfect day to enjoy sitting in the conservatory with my book and the doors & windows open to stop it getting too hot. I did get the plants I want hardened off first set up on the deck but my peas/beans are still unsown, as long as I get them done in the next week or so they'll be fine (I hope;)).

Lunch was half a slice of toast, left over from my friends 2-year-old twins plates! Luckily I'd had a Costa coffee breakfast, so I wasn't famished... She does usually feed me if I come around lunch time, but the twins were not behaving very well today, and she seemed to skip lunch as well! We had our hands full, with tantrums galore!

I was hungry when I got home, so it was 5 chicken goujon things, and a large pile of broccoli, which I'd bought on Sunday, but hadn't even started on yet.

I'm off out for my tea tomorrow, catching up with some friends I haven't seen since Christmas. We're going to the pub next to where I used to work, so that's easy, in that I don't have to plan my route! I'd know it blindfolded - did it for 3 years!

Lunch was the last of the vegetable soup with some crackers and dinner was ham, egg and HM chips the last of the gammon will go in a bread roll for lunch tomorrow. I looked at on offer chicken lunchtime but decided I didn't want to finish the gammon and start eating chicken for a week insteadi want some variety

Nice breezy day, so at 6am I decided to gather my washing together and go to the launderette. I time it for 7.30am now as the staff arrive at 8am. If I arrive at 8am (in case there's a problem), then I'm in their way with their service washes.... so I figured if I go in at 7.30am and there's a problem they'll be there soon... there's never been a problem, but I do plan "in case".

    Washing's on the line, drying.

Food .... oh god. Again? I've got a cupboard full of it and stuff in the freezer... I'll work out what I'll have later.

Maybe, with 1½ cooked sausages, I'll do a sausage/pepper/cheese naan bread-based pizza style hot thing.

    Good morning everyone,
Looks as though it's going to be another pleasant day though it's a tad overcast at the moment.
My cold is definitely easing but I'm still wonky so it will be minimal bending etc. for me today - I don't want the kids to arrive to find me in a heap on the floor:eek::rotfl:.
I'm expecting the kids to arrive this evening so won't be CFO for the next 10 days as my younger son has holidays next week. I'll post when I can but probably won't be about much as we are hoping to do a lot of clearing out at my Dad's.
Hope you all have a lovely Easter x

After porridge breakfast into town, before the Easter loons decide to have BBQ s and bung up everywhere

I used my W/rose vouchers, not bad, saved me £3.50 on stuff I'd buy anyway:j Plus a free paper, also topped up with their mature cheddar in there, also on offer at the moment

Sun was out, now dull but warm, postponed garden pottering for today

Lunch was last of the mini sausage rolls, with brown dipping sauce:)

At last got round to using the LO beef stock stuff, I've made a fridge bottom veg & beef casserole thing in the cast iron pot, now in oven combobulating for tonight's dinner

I had Subway for breakfast/lunch as they have a new vegan sandwich.:) It really filled me up.

I feel tired from going out last night and then walking around in the sun today. I'm just having some cold fizzy water to cool down.

I think I might use my foot spa with cold water instead of hot.:D
