  • I've had peanut butter on toast with a banana and a bottle of kombucha.

I'm having the last bit of a jar of pasta sauce with spaghetti and broccoli and carrots later.

I have a doughnut in the fridge too, to have with a cup of green tea.

    Welcome back PN

My lurgy has turned into near fatal Man 'Flu now:(

I left some of the frittata, appetite went halfway through
Had to get up about 1.30 to gulp cough syrup & sip fake Lemsip. Seemed to work, woke again in time for Farming Today, {arguments with Vegans], didn't get up until getting near 10 this morning:o

    Porridge for brunch
Dinner no idea, I've got salmon fillet I could fry, or tin of soup I could open, or biscuits I could nibble. Plenty of options if I CBA to do something

Caron, I always thought the difference between stew & casserole was cooking method, stew in pot on stove, casserole in oven
And now you've bought a log burner that nice Mr Gove is gunning for you, it's all your fault:D

Farway, its your fault !!! I have never had a rat or mouse and then after reading your post last week I saw a rat run across the kitchen floor, EEEKKKK I have kick panels under all my cupboards and no holes so ?????? I have a downstairs bathroom but thats tiles all throughout. I saw no droppings etc so thought I had finally lost my marbles, it was after 10.. at night but a couple of days later my seedling on bathroom shelf had GONE. EEEEKK again. Still no sign of anything but ordered a kit and got son & g/son to come on Saturday to put poison down. The only place we/they could see was the hole where tumble drier trunk went out. Well am playing the waiting game now, then check if any poison has gone and then look in cupboards. Definately your fault!!! xxxx

Ooops, sorry. I wondered where my ratty had gone, seems she's a nice home now:D

I have kick boards but ratty, after one excursion to knock over candle stick in dining room, kept to the one cupboard with the tasty poison bait in it.
I had to renew bait daily 'cos it was always eaten and none left, good sign
I bet the tumble drier trunk is the entry point.
Mine was washer drain pipe area. I forced crumpled chicken mesh into all the gaps around pipe, never had any signs of ratty since then
    Good hunting

Breakfast was 2 bits of toast, beans, scrambled eggs.

Odd bread that was ... a cheap loaf (40p) bought in the first week of December and dated 14th, I froze the second half on the 13th. About a week ago or so I took the final 4-6 slices out of the freezer and popped the bag on the worktop .... and I've been toasting/eating it since because it never went green!

Had the final 3rd portion of beef stew. Disappointed. While food tastes utterly gorgeous when freshly cooked, it often isn't 1/10th as nice two days later....

I used up another bag of frozen spuds from the freezer and used up the 3rd of my 4 Yorkshire puddings I bought/started on Xmas Day.

At least the freezer's going down - and not being added to.

I'm completely out of chips. I've fancied fish fingers for 4-5 weeks now but not got round to buying them because first "it's nearly Xmas", then "it's Xmas" then "all this food in the over-full freezer needs to be eaten" :(

I've also got no peas as I didn't have the freezer space to fit in a bag of peas. I've probably now got enough room to be able to buy chips, fish fingers and peas.... so some time in the next 1-2 weeks that'll be on the menu.

That's my understanding too Farway :)

No worries re the stove, mine meets the requirements plus (most reputable companies only fit those that do now) so Mr Gove can go whistle.....;) It's a German make and their "clean air" requirements are very strict and have been for some time:). I burn sustainable fuel too that's been properly dried no garage forecourt "wet wood" in my house.:D

PN- scary re the bread keeping for so long mind you it's not been that warm but still.....

Candy Hope your pooch is ok xx

Caron and Faraway I’m with you in the stew/casserole too. Stew on the hob and casserole in the oven.

Just a quick pop in from me tonight. First exams were today and another two tomorrow so a night with my head in the books and an early one I think.

CFO today was a ham sandwich for lunch and a portion of bolognese from the freezer with pasta for tea.
