candygirl, I saw a tip somewhere that if you soak limp veg in chilled water for 1/2 an hour it firms them up enough to spiralise. No idea if works though.....

Happy Birthday PN :bdaycake: hope you enjoyed the Indian
My glass chopping board was a gift and is very pretty, it's never been used just sits on show so the person who gave it to me can see it :rotfl: I never thought of glass partials just that they are no good for my decent knives.
FZ I hate people who sit next to me smelling like they've bathed in perfume or aftershave, I then becomes that person doing the coughing  although the worst was the old lady smelling of moth balls
I'm tired today, I shouldn't be as I had yesterday off work, walking around W*itrose lunchtime I suddenly felt like someone had drained the energy from meI'm not sure much work got done this afternoon as I felt like I needed a long nap. Hopefully I'm not coming down with anything and it's just because I'm not sleeping very well at the moment
. Just as well it's the weekend, although I'm meant to be popping into town tomorrow.
Lunch was lamb casserole from the freezer, not sure how long it had been there  as it defrosted very watery, I picked out the lamb and dumpling and ate the LO green beans from last night with it, it was the only one in the freezer and I hadn't dated it. Fresh pineapple filled the gap
I brought some YS chicken Kiev in W*itrose, not so good a deal as yours Farway, just half price, so dinner was chicken Kiev and veg cba to do chips, the second Kiev has gone into the freezer, to fill the gap created by the lamb :rotfl:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Happy birthday, PN! Hope you had a good day.
Brambling, I got hit with a bout of exhaustion this afternoon. I think my brain finally allowed my body to anticipate that the weekend was nearly here. It was a long walk home, & I settled for a couple of sausages, eggs & HM wedges for tea.
In bed early now, looking forward to a long sleep & no alarm waking me up.
Tomorrow I'll be walking the two miles or so into town. I need some new shoes to walk to/wear at work. That are actually waterproof & comfortable enough to wear all day.0 -
Just realised - it's 1st December! My tiny Christmas tree, tiny baubles & battery powered lights will be getting put out on the lounge side table, & that will be Xmas decorations done in my house!
Breakfast will be coffee, then I'll head into town for a wander & to look at shoes. Might treat myself to a couple of sausage rolls from a ubiquitous chain "bakery" for lunch. Before that, I've washing g to get washed & out on the airer. Hope everyone has a good day!0 -
I ate yesterday, so am still full.
I'll be having a bit of pub grub later, so don't need to eat ... but I just had a bread roll/marg to take the edge off my appetite as there's a small chance I won't be eating out later (all depends how full the pub is, if there are tables/not... so could be a last minute change of plan as you can't eat in a heaving pub with no table).0 -
Pinch, punch first of the month:D
Not long now 'til the C time, unlike Novice I no longer even bother with even a festive bauble or inch of tinsel, not bah humbug but CBA to take it down again. I may have to put a string up for cards
Thanks for tip about pinning copy of spreadsheet near freezer Caron, never occurred to me, Doh:o I've added another column as well, which drawer food is in
I've just been signing up to a few online, hoping for money off intro offer. Just had fiver voucher from Iceland in the post, I think I can spend enough in there to qualify on delivery, even ignoring the tortured chickens and Halal lamb
Usual porridge breakfast
Lunch is last of YS mini pork pies + by coincidence last of the Christmas 2017 piccalilli, time to splash out & buy my annual jar
Dinner will feature the 90p FR chicken, now cooked & cold, it's pouring down, gutters overflowing which is making salad an unlikely option but who knows by late afternoon? Times & thoughts changeEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
Still tipping it down ....... It's supposed to dry up later so fingers crossed.
I'm not sure when my son will arrive probably late afternoon as he was out last night so will be wanting a lie in.
I thoroughly enjoyed my pizza last night, there was a slice LO which I duely had for breakfast;). I tend to find a whole bought 10" one too much, a half not nearly enough unless I'm having something with it but 5/6th is just right:rotfl::rotfl:.
Not sure about dinner tonight, will see what "the boy" fancies0 -
