I've always liked skinny, quirky intellectuals:DMaybe that's been my downfall :rotfl:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Evening all
Lazy day today, busy doing nothing :rotfl: I did catch up on my Scandi crime drama and watched the last two episodes of Beck this afternoon, I can't cope with sub titles after 9pm
Lunch was the LO cauliflower cheese, not great reheated but it filled a gap. I made chicken soup for lunches next week and rather than cooking the dinner I planned couldn't resist a bowl for dinner, I may be all chicken out by mid week :rotfl: at least the cat's happy as he got the scrapsLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
It so makes your heart sink ... when you realise the utter sadness .... that, yet again, today, you have to work out what to eat and prepare it. It's endless.
Endless... monotony .... daily .... endlessly .... "what are you eating today??" and the answer is "I DON'T BL00DY KNOW!!!!!"0 -

Today is a case in point, breakfast nicely routine rut, overnight soaked nuked porridge, sliced banana, honey & HM yoghurt
Lunch, no idea, I've got one LO egg so could be egg sarnie, again
Dinner, To quote PN "I DON'T BL00DY KNOW!!!!!"Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
Raw, damp and grey here today, it feels colder than it did yesterday. Definitely a winter day rather than Autumn.
Assuming my shopping arrives as ordered unlike PN & Farway I do know what is for dinner - stir fry & noodles:). Protein element will either be a gammon or pork steak.
The beef & mushroom stew was lovely in the end I had it with mash & sprouts as I reckoned had more than enough without adding dumplings. I didn't quite manage to make just one portion, there are a couple of tablespoons left which I'll have on a piece of toast with a poached egg for lunch.:)0 -

While you CFO though, a lot of the time you're also entertaining, feeding others, family popping round.
You only "feel the burn" of monotony once nobody's coming... ever.
For starters that shopping coming ... is also less likely to turn up by magic as you'll no longer be buying enough to meet the minimum order value... you'll have a slower turnover of foods... and the freezer will be cluttered with more "stuff I don't fancy, but there's only me to eat it .... "
And then that "always 1-2 ingredients short" of managing to cook something ...0 -

And yes I do feel the monotony sometimes of cooking just for me- just not today:)0 -

And then that "always 1-2 ingredients short" of managing to cook something ...- I don't have the option of popping to the shops I do wish I did so I pay extra if my order is below the delivery threshold.....
