    Evening

Seems I have a boring doctors location, it's next to the library :)

Hope you manage to get the wonky donkey back under control Caronc :) and the snuffles don't turn into anything too bad with your son visiting

I won't thank you for the Cornish kitchen link PN, it's given me ideas I didn't need :rotfl: the trouble with CFO is you bake you eat ;) although I have several colleagues at work who are happy to help :rotfl:

Flubberzing hope the class from hell weren't too bad today, just one more day :D

A bit of a rinse and repeat CFO day today, soup for lunch and LO tandoori chicken with air fry chips for dinner it was a very beige meal as I cba to cook any of the veg currently in my fridge  Farways talk of pork chops means I have unearthed one from the freezer so will do a mini roast for dinner tomorrow I've brought a swede so that will factor into the meal :)

My new surgery sits all by itself on a kind of island between the local SM & the town - it feels a bit like the "walk of doom" going up the long path to it, though in fairness I've no complaints so far from the service.:) Their other service sits between a pharmacy, a 24/7 shop and a funeral parlour - covers all options I suppose :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Having colleagues is always handy for surplus goodies - unfortunately mine used to be equally generous at bringing in tempting bits;).

Leftovers - eaten cold - for dinner today ready for the workman (yes I used that word deliberately - rather than tradesperson) that had promised me only yesterday he would call round "early evening" to quote re a minor job here.

    :cool::cool:

You guessed it - ie where was he then and how come I never realised my phone was apparently not working (despite the fact it is) #sarcasm alert.

Phrase for the day = "You know women haven't got equality yet - when most of the time the people doing the 'waiting in' for tradespeople and deliverers are women and the people making them wait are men":cool::cool::mad::mad::mad: Would be very grateful for anyone that wants to tell them it's the 21st century now.....

If he turns up tomorrow - as they're often unreliable in the "turn up when not expected" front, as well as "not turn up when expected" - he's been binned off and I shall tell him I'm about to go out in literally 30 seconds time and be glad I've just wasted some of his time for him. I've got an appointment "early evening" tomorrow with a different one instead (still a man unfortunately.....can't find any women doing this.....yet......).

I've seen a few people in the drs who look like they should be in the funeral parlour :rotfl:

Our new lady was told food left on the kitchen table was help yourself snacks, so when chillies appeared one day she was quite impressed that we snacked on them as they were the long thin hot ones :eek: i was almost sorry to disappoint her by saying excess garden produce also appeared and that we took home :rotfl:

    Good morning everyone,
    :rotfl::rotfl:re the chilli snacks Brambling:eek::eek:
It is back to dull, drizzly and windy here, I hope my son has packed a jumper!
My snuffles continue so a day for hot drinks and not doing very much.

I've cleaned the bathroom and once my groceries have arrived and been put away that's it for my "must dos" for today. My son should arrive about 1pm, will see what he fancies for lunch but knowing him it will be a salad wrap of some sort. I'm CFO tonight and it will either be a HM ready meal from the freezer or a "bung it in the oven" job.:)

    ...chillies ...
I always have a little smug feeling when I grab a pack of reduced price chillies. Just the other week they were on offer in 4ldi's weekly offers... I think they were 27p for a pack of 3-4. When I went in there were 2-3 packs marked half price, so about 14p. I grabbed two (I always leave some for others when items are reduced) ...

I just lob them straight into the freezer, still in the little bags. To use them, I take one out, on demand, then cut them straight into whatever I'm cooking as they need no thawing/defrosting and are easy to cut with a £1 paring knife when frozen.

They're just "win" as there's no thought/prep required whatsoever in freezing, then using, them. They also don't take up much space in the freezer, so never become a drag to use them up.

Today I'm really fancying another giant Yorkie :)
I've got a portion of mash left from yesterday - and I could use up the rest of that frozen bag of veggies too, thus freeing up some freezer space.

It'll leave me short on eggs though if I use one.... but that's life.

Another item I'm starting to hanger over is that I spotted a pizza base in 4ldi at £1.09 ... can't remember what it was, but it "looked a bit better" than the usual £1 ones.... could get one of those later and add some chilli to the top ... bit more cheese... maybe half an onion. Have to see... I bet I do that in the next few days.

That's what I do with chillies to PN and root ginger. With the ginger I just grate what I need from frozen.

I was up with the sparrows, for an early visit from the haidresser-7.30
So already eaten 2 toast with cheese spread, 2 x pears, 1 of 3 rolls with spicy chicken salad, (other 2 are sat and sun lunch at work.)
1 banana with ginger yogurt and seeds , plus multiple cups of tea.
I've had my physio appointment, he's given me exercises to do. Must admit I'm not good at motivating myself to exercise at home, though I know I must. It's back pain caused by "old" age! Wearing away of cartridge, so won't cure but hopefully ease the problem. It's worse on days when I'm working as my job is on my feet and I walk there and back , so apart from 2 short breaks there's no sitting down. I often wish I could be put on a rack and stretched!!
I've also dyed my hair , had a parcel collected and hope to get a delivery shortly.
It looks sunny out but it's cold.
Dgson is here for tea , chicken jalfrezi tonight!! Also need to call to nieces as it's her birthday and there's cake!!!!

PN thanks for the cornish kitchen link I will see if there's some dgson and I can bake gfree!!!
    It looked great.

    Cooler but sunny today

My L's shopping, found what I needed, like eggs and on offer fresh beetroot, then bought what I did not need but fancied, like pseudo KitKat & Blue Riband chocs, plus a big YS Hawaii pizza. No dark choc & cherry that I could see

My Nurse MOT was a mess, somehow they had failed to book me in, despite having written a reminder note given to me at the time:( All females wasting my time Money;)

Rebooked for November now, and I think the date given is wrong, I asked for a Friday, it's a blooming Wednesday when I check the calendar, more male time wasted by females

Good job chippy was still shut after the clinic fail, home for lunch of PB baguette with BF ham & salad filling

Dinner, Is either the YS pizza, or the LO C & O flan, I'll decide nearer the time
Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens
  • Late lunch today - doing what is one of my staples whilst on this diet (ie couscous/a selection of fruit and fat-free yogurt). It all counts as "Free Food" on the Slimming World diet and doesn't take much effort.

Better mood re tradespeople now. Mr Unreliable of yesterday has just lost out - his own fault. Mr New Young Guy turned up here instead (earlier than I'd been expecting him - and had the manners to ring first to check if that was okay). He's taken a look at the job I want doing/sounds like he'll be quoting me a reasonable price for it and my first impression was that I liked him.

Looks like I could be sorted for getting this job done then and, if that works out okay, it could be that I've found the suitable handyperson (and roofer) I've been looking for since I moved here. Fingers crossed....
