Dark choc and cherry is my dds favourite, I will look out for the biscuits PN .
I only ever spot them when they're on the reduced section.
There are 2-3 flavours, so mind you don't grab the wrong one.
I'm trying to find a photo of the packs - but the MSE software turned part of the URL into an image... *sighs*.
This will do. The Lidl forum where they discuss them

There's advertised on that link as 49p ... so maybe that's the regular price... anyway, they're nice0 -
I once read a diet tip for breaking up a bar of a very dark chocolate and putting it in the freezer, the idea being you eat one square at a time and it would last longer and you eat less :rotfl:, so one Sunday afternoon I remembered the chocolate and I got my exercise for the day walking from the sofa to the freezer :rotfl: I only ever did it the once
Yep...I read that one too - and remembered it as I came back from my evening out and hauled out the half bar of chocolate remaining from the freezer and ate it on the spot..... That tip has long since been consigned in my mind to "Must have come from one of those articles a journalist wrote just in order to earn a pay cheque that week" rather than "Solid useful or interesting information":cool:0 -
Flubberyzing - sorry to see that the tutoring is proving a bit "variable" in more ways than one. Fingers crossed things will even out for you - nice easy pupils at a nice steady rate.0

Good morning everyone,
Shame about losing a pupil flubberyzing but it does sounds as though you have been doing an awful lot so it might give you a chance to catch up with yourself. As you say you can always fill the slots at another point.
Apart from some domestic stuff I've not much planned for today, suits me as my balance is a bit iffy.
I'm not sure about meals for today yet but I've beans to use up so they will feature at some point.0 -
I know we're all about CFO ... but if you live alone, have no family/visitors and only ever CFO (plus don't really like cooking/faff and the washing up and needing just one spoon of ingredients you'll only use once every 5 years) ... then you really need a "genuine fix of lovely food" every now and then, just to look at.
Now, I'm not actually a cakey person .... but this woman in Cornwall has a Facebook page where she (mostly) bakes - but not like modern day "look at me" people. This is simply a woman who has decades of old recipes and recipes sent to her from decades ago/grandmothers - and she simply bakes them and shares the recipes. Old 1970s recipes she jotted down off the radio, old WI booklets, magazine clippings from the 1950s-1970s....
No marketing, no "join me", not looking for likes .... not trying to win any blogging awards... and the only cook book she's ever mentioned was one she put together to raise funds for a local Hospice.
Nobody .... can run through her Facebook page without adding her to your "must remember this" list of places to look at gorgeous food you'll never ever make ....
All old style, old/simple ingredients, nothing "modern", nothing "with a twist". Just good honest baking.

I think you must have mentioned it before PN as I get this site on my FB newsfeed. Completely agree you one to makeyou drool over lovely home baking:).
I've just finished wrestling with Henry :rotfl::rotfl:(hoover) so time for a much needed break before I do some ironing. I'll mop through after my lunch before I retreat to my bed for a bit while the floors dry;)0 -
I made the Yorkshire batter.
So today it'll be Giant Yorkshire filled with freshly made mash from decent mashing spuds .... and some mixed (frozen) veg .... and lashings of gravy.
Not eaten anything yet today ... there'll no doubt be some toast with chocolate spread scoffed at some point though ... and maybe a satsuma.
I lobbed the three remaining oven bottom (bread) muffins in the freezer as they were yesterday's date... tossed them in late last night.0 -
Nice sunny day again, after porridge etc breakfast into town for a mooch & spuds
Nothing outstanding in the YS areas, but I did take a peek at FR pork chops in W/rose, now I want pork chops but didn't buy one at the time:(
Thanks for pointing out the choc cherry biscuit types in L's PN, like you I normally ignore the foreign stuff shelves, mainly because I've no idea what it is, or if I do there is no way i'd buy pork stuffed cabbage rolls for instance:eek:
I'm in L's tomorrow morning so I'll take a peek, just in case
You did mention the Cornish recipe FB before, I've got her popping up, not made anything but it all looks lovely
Flubberyzing, sorry one steady income has gone, but sounds like you have more coming in, nice to be in demand, even if it is wearing at times.
Caron, hope balance is a bit better, or at least the floor's dry now. Like you I've LO beans and they will also feature tonight
Lunch, had a change, tinned sardines on toast, only the cheapo SP sardines, not the posh couple of quid a tin types
Bit CBA for dinner, I've decided on cheesy, hammy eggy again, with the LO beans. I've got a couple of stale crusts to use up, shouldn't make another bread pud:o
I've got my health MOT tomorrow morning, it was cancelled by the nurse last month, and I may just get fish N chips when I come out of the surgery, chippy is opposite with pub next door. Ideal health centre;)Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Because of my foibles, I can only cook one thing at a time....
Mash is made, veggies have been cooked, I've added some stuffing .... Yorkshire's half done.
Once the Yorkie's finished I'll just blitz the other bits for 1-2 minutes in the nuker while I'm stirring the gravy... then it's food time
Big giant Yorkie filled with hot goodness... although the sun's shining outside.
EDIT: I ate all that lot - and it was superb... but portions were about 20% too big... managed anyway
Finished with a strip of chocolate bar.0 -
Good evening everyone,
I had to laugh at your health centre location Farway, my previous surgery was sandwiched by a pub, a chippy/kebab/pizza place and a chinese takeaway. :rotfl::rotfl:
PN- glad you enjoyed your giant YP, you've been promising yourself one for a while.:D
I got some ironing done and the floors mopped before heading for a snooze:), balance is a bit better tonight but I suspect the "wonky donkey" is kicking at the stable door again:(, I do have a touch of the snuffles though so hoping it's just that.
Lunch was cheesy beans with a spoonful of carmelised onions stirred through on a slice of toast. That finished the loaf so no toast for breakfast tomorrow, thankfully I have a grocery order booked for later in the morning to restock my essentials and as my elder son will be here for the weekend some non-essentials too.:rotfl:
I've defrosted a couple of sausages so it's bangers and mash tonight. I'll use some of the onions to make gravy and veg will probably be carrots & cabbage. It's blinking cold here tonight so it's just what I fancy.:)0
