    Good evening everyone,
I love egg & tomato sandwiches with lots of pepper and a bit of salad cream:D.
It has been a truly manky afternoon weather-wise here and perishing with it:(. I gave in and popped the heating on about an hour ago, I reckoned that as I had a vest, a top, a jumper, a fleece gilet, thick socks and my new slipper boots on and was still chilly that enough was enough! Thankfully it's due to get a bit milder overnight as it's barely reached double figures.

A hot lunch might have helped though I did enjoy the scotch egg remaining slaw.

I was too lazy to open the fridge and reach for the salad cream... I usually use that instead of margarine, but this time I didn't... thought about a squirt of SC, but was too lazy to do it, even though I was standing alongside the fridge and the shelf is empty apart from that bottle... so no digging around to find/get it even...

    Too lazy .... again :)

It's not that cold here. My house is under 10 years old, so well insulated... and I'm in the south, so it's warmer.... I'm scared of turning the heating on to be honest... most of the time, but especially first time of the year. This year though, as I'm selling, I've booked a service (first one ever) and the man's coming Friday, so I can hold on until then.

Nothing wrong with the boiler, it's 100% working and always has been .... it's just another thing I'm too scared to turn on :)

I've always loved scotch eggs; eyed them up in 4ldi this morning as you've mentioned them recently ... but didn't go with it. I've had them hot with chips in the past, fresh/hot ones in a works' canteen.

Welcome Stoke, nice to have another bloke aboard, it can get a tad lonely when it's dress size nattering time:D
Vegans & veggies, look away now. YS pack of 4 black pudding slices. Today's food sorted:

You're welcome to join us any time we're discussing dress sizes Farway :rotfl: at least discussions have been kept to outer garments  i was tempted by black puddling in M&S lunchtime but decided I needed to eat what was already in the fridge, I don't like it too spicy and M&S suits my taste

PN tinned cherry tomatos are a little more posher than normal ones, and usually a lot more expensive but I think taste the same as full size ones, I have brought them when on offer and used them for pasta sauces rather than hiding in chilli etc.

I had to lightly scrap the windscreen this morning, the frost had nearly gone but just a little left, it was a little unexpected for the SE in September  the temperature was 4 when I left at 8am, I'm resisting putting the heating on but the winter dressing grown was put on :)

Lunch was the chicken soup I made last night and dinner was a vegetable risotto using odds and ends of veg found in the fridge with the last of a pack of frozen broad beans

A hot scotch egg is lovely , I've made them in the oven before which were good but not quite the same as deep fried.
My house is well insulated but old and it is an unseasonable cold snap. With the good weather my heating was off much earlier in the year than usual so it's swings and roundabouts I suppose. I've credit in my utility account so hopefully it will cover the colder months. A "wood burner" is on my wish list but will be very expensive to install but I'm hoping to get one by next winter I'll be very happy:)

I didn't know if they'd still have skins on... when I open a tin of regular tinned tomatoes I slide a fork under the "top bit", then slice all round under the fork, so the tomato drops away and I can flick that sprouty top bit in the bin ... and I also remove the occasional bit of leftover skin if I spot any at this point.

With the peculiar way I inspect/check every tomato - and with cherry tomatoes being small - I "feared" what the contents actually looked like ... I could be picking away for ages :) It's crazy but I thought they might still have full skins attached...

PN you may be asked for 'proof' that the boiler has been serviced from any buyers especially if it's 10years old. So ensure you get proof of service and that's it's working ok as it may save time later

Good call - if I put on any more layers I'll be immobile:eek:.

Huge tomato didn't getted stuffed as I was on the phone for ages with my son. His work are hosting a GBBO style fundraising coffee morning on Friday. He drew " 24 Individual savoury tarts - not quiche" so we were plotting. He makes a mean ratatouille so I think he's going with that. For a very laid back guy he's quite competitive so I'm expecting lots of calls in the next few days.....
Dinner reverted to my meal plan of butternut squash & black bean chilli from the freezer.

I'd be down supermarket on the way into work that morning. Although I'd have ducked and dived to not be part of it :)
