Another good night's kip, tum seems to have settled back to normal now, I did just have 2 fried egg sarnies for dinner, about an hour apart not serial sarnies
Dull day, but sun trying to creep out
Breakfast was porridge, honey, banana & HM yoghurt, again.
Today is apple stewing day once I finish on here. I'm also going to see if any usable blackberries left in my garden, may as well bung them in at same timeGlad the tum has settled Farway, it sounds very similiar to the problems my Dad is having. He's identified spicy is a no-no and chippy fish & chips but apart from that no obvious triggers.
Now there's a thought Caron, my bold, I had chippy F & C on the Monday evening, maybe there is a link somehow? The oil or whatever they get fried in, I know it's not beef dripping they used 'cos someone was moaning on Trip Advisor about them not using BD anymore. I rarely have spicy food, I always find it too spicy / hot so don't bother with itEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
Farway- I think with my Dad it's a combination of portion size and the greasy batter that sets him off but it definitely seems to be a trigger. He's fine if he makes own with oven chips even though he does bread & fry the fish.
It's dry though gloomy here today but I hope to get a fair bit done outside and put weedkiller on the slabs - hopefully that'll be the last time I need to do that this year.
Breakfast was toast with some slivers of Jarlsberg cheese and lots of cherry toms. Lunch is going to be chicken thigh with kholrabi & cucumber slaw. I've not completely decided about later either sausage, beans, veg & spuds or pasta, veg & pesto. Either would use up some lurking bits.:)I've a grocery order booked for tomorrow as although I've still a fair amount of bits to use I'm running out /have run out of a lot of the basics I use every week.0 -
I'm just waiting for some southern fried chicken strips to do in the oven, and will pop them in a couple of wraps with coleslaw.
Doing a bit of broccoli and some of those little snack-size peppers on the side. Might have a yoghurt or something for afters.
I'm currently trying a thing of having my main meal of the day at "lunch time". It's how we always did it at weekends and school holidays growing up, and it's what my mum still does. And I'm actually finding that it suits me better. I have more energy for the rest of the day and do less naughty snacking as well.Because it's fun to have money!

I had porridge for breakfast and have just had bacon, egg and tomatoes with a slice of toast. Tonight will be low fat sausages cooked in the actifry with home made mash. A grocery delivery is due tomorrow with ingredients for special cookies for dd which are supposed to help with breastfeeding.
I want to cook a huge tray of skinny lasagne made with courgettes instead of pasta sheets and then portion it out and freeze so it is easier to transport to dd on Thursday as I am staying over to help a bit.
Middle dd cooked a healthy jambalaya on Saturday when we visited dd and the new baby which we had in the evening with a couple of portions left for the next day to make things a bit easier.0 -
Lovely smell of apple & blackberry crumble now seeping everywhere:j
Used all the windfalls, using what blackberries I could find, plus the blackberries I froze fresh before I went away, made a huge crumble, with heaps of stewed A & B left.
I picked a carrier bag of ripe apples while in the garden, should keep doctor away for a few weeks. My apples are very large this year, no idea why
Lunch was BF ham & salad sandwich, followed by one of my figs, now tum is better I think I can risk returning to them, fingers crossed 'cos there are loads more ripening
I've defrosted a salmon fillet, dinner will be fillet fried in butter, with more salad & some Actifried frozen chips
Of course there will be A & B crumble for later, I've run out of instant custard but found an emergency tin. I'll need to restock in L's tomorrowEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Lunch was two bits of bread with some lightly curried coleslaw slapped between them.... cut in half, eat.
I really fancy something sweet, but I'm aware that my sweetie intake has gone from almost none some years ago .... to several times a week now. So trying hard not to pop out for something sweet, or sweeties.....
As my handyman's now left the premises.... this means I can no longer avoid doing all the jobs with my name on them
There are a gazillion jobs .... I have a list of jobs so large ... I need a big rest before I start
I've a couple of ebay deliveries due this week - one's click/collect, the other will come in the post... more little jobs once they arrive.0 -
I could've sworn I had a "spag bol in a box in the freezer".... couldn't find it - so went with beans and cheese on toast instead.
Fighting the urge to go out sweetie buying.....0 -
Good evening everyone
:hello:flubberyzing & Elona nice to see you on the thread
PN would a hot chocolate if you have any maybe curb the urge:)
I've had a fairly productive day, slabs are all weedkillered, picked just shy of 3lbs of brambles and started capping off the toms in the greenhouse so I don't get anymore fruit or growth. Didn't get the greenhouse work finished but made a good start.:)
Used up the kholrabi at lunchtime in a crunchy slaw with cucumber and spring onion. I had a splodge of salad dressing left from when my Dad came over last week so mixed it with a little mayo and mixed it with the veg. It was very crunchy and tasty and went well with the LO chicken from last night.
Tonight I'm going to have a bung together of chipolatas (in the freezer since Christmas) diced spud, onions, red pepper , courgette & mushrooms mixed with the lurking baked beans. It's just what I fancy and I'll freeze the pesto for another time.:)

 evening
Busy Monday today I ended up on my own at work with very little sleep, not sure why but I was still awake 3.30am this morning so was working on only 3 hour sleepsome days I wished I drank coffee :coffee: I need to go in tomorrow and re read some instructions I spent the day writing just to make sure they make sense  the brain had definitely closed down after lunch :wall:
Lunch was smoked mackerel salad and dinner was duck breast with LO rice, green beans and broccoli. I'm now sitting thinking sweeties thanks PNthe fruit I picked up lunchtime doesn't have the same appeal for some reason :silenced:
