In the end I had a click/collect parcel to collect, so I did go and get the bread rolls. Also 3 cheesecakes and some tomatoes and a "lucky find" of a punnet of grapes at half price, so I got those too.
Eaten nearly all the grapes already and one cheesecake.0 -
Good evening everyone,
You'll be glad to have your car back Farway, even if it does have to go back in next week.
MTSTM - hope your are please with your elegant frock!
Good buy re the grapes PN- I love them but my tummy only likes a few at a time so I seldom buy them as they go over before I can get through them.
It rained on and off through the afternoon but I managed to get some deadheading done between showers.:)
There was more meat on the lamb than I thought so enough left after today's lunch for another meal.
I forgotto defrost my pie for tonight, I could cook it from frozen but I don't want to a) have the oven on for ages just to heat a pie through and b) risk it drying out. I'll have it another time. I'm unsure what to have for dinner now, something easy.

I do know a former alternative health practitioner I know told me he used to have asthma and took up yoga. Lo and behold - no asthma. I'm guessing that it can be refined specifically down to yoga breathing (rather than the exercise per se)..
The asthma has come and gone most of my life Money I'm afraid it's a family thing. The last 15 years it has been relatively mild as long as I avoided triggers and I have sometimes felt a fraud having my flu jab
It came back with a bang last August when I was between cats in fact the first time in nearly 30 years I didn't have one. My peak flow level is usually really good I think because of all the walking I do, there are some suggestions it could be my age  in which case hopefully it will go away again
Caronc it's not unusual for me to get to work and remember dinner is still in the freezerI don't like to cook somethings from frozen and prefer to defrost meat and fish first.
It's Friday and surprise surprise I ended up alone again, manager is on holiday and I got a Skype from new guy to say he had a medical appt so would be 'work' from home which is a repeat of yesterday and then no contact and no work done. I have work which takes priority over everything so I've ignored the backlog of emails etc and sounded off to my managers manager when he asked where was everyoneI'm counting down until he goes but at least I avoided the biscuits
Lunch was blue cheese, toasted walnut and pear salad and dinner has been mackerel fillets with stir fry peppers, shallots, broccoli and a very hot chilli  it was a bit warm stir frying tonight but fish had to be cooked and it seemed a quicker option for the veg

I don't have the excuse of being at work to forget to defrost things:o, does getting side-tracked with my secateurs count?;) Must remember to deposit my pocketful of nastursium seeds in the "collecting" bowl - they don't wash well:rotfl:
Dinner is going to be spaghetti with a simple sauce of a knob of butter, diced tomato, green beans, spring onion, lemon juice, lots of pepper, basil, some pasta water and some parmesan. Good old "one pot" meal with minimal prep:D0 -
Yep secateurs count :rotfl:
I picked up some crab YS today (I just went in for the new potatoes I forgot yesterday  ) I think your pasta dish will worked with that tomorrow Caronc.
Right just off to chase the three big flies which have just come in the open window before the cat and I both go madLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Oh jealous re the crab - would definitely work with my pasta (with a bit of chilli:cool:) so fling it this way in case it "goes off":rotfl:
Thinking about it I have a tin of crab in the cupboard or I could have added some prawns from the freezer but it was just fine as it was though a big piece of garlic bread wouldn't gone amiss but I CBA making any....0 -
How good a catch are you Caronc :rotfl:

Pretty good if I need to be:rotfl:
Flies seem always to win in the daylight- turn the lights down and just wait until they are sleepy and whack:cool:.0 -
Scorchio.
Food... no idea.
I've bread rolls, cheese, tomatoes, eggs... so I won't go hungry. Might use up some of the never-ending dried pasta and toss in some tuna or something.... who knows, eh. And, never forget, there's always chips ... because there's ALWAYS chips0 -
The dress - well it wasnt quite as I envisaged. Bit undecided....
Re flies - trying to think how long they stick around when in the home...
I have had success a couple of times with opening the window I want them to go out, holding my hand palm towards and trying to "beam Energy" at them from the palm with the intention of them going out the window I want them to go out. But that is rather occasional and I do have to be in "the right frame of mind" for that - and that is definitely very occasional:cool::rotfl: But that is more off-piste for me - as I tend towards trying to be very "logical" (hmm....doesnt always succeed.....). Blame the bit of Celt in me that came from my mothers direction...
EDIT: Not scorchio here - house temperature just checked - its 22C. Outside temperature - just poked nose out of back door. Still in nightdress and dressing gown. Took off dressing gown - yep...okay. Put dressing gown back on again. Right - time for breakfast and "get my act" together for the day.0
