I used to have one of those electronic cat deterrents, they are good. I also have cat presents and I think they dug up some small bare rooted plants. Small pointy sticks work so does wire mesh until plants are established

I have some rescue remedy night melts by my bed and I pop one under my tongue if I wake up too early. I always fall asleep afterwards.

No idea about food tomorrow, I want to eat what I have in like growing leaves, cucumber and ripe tomatoes. I suppose I should have either sardines or tinned salmon and I have either date and walnut slice or cream scone. Rhubarb and yoghurt. I ate soaked oats with currants and soaked walnuts for tea, if I sleep ok then maybe I will do this again. I prefer something tastier for breakfast, rather than oats. Hair cut and blow tomorrow early, so it will be grab it for lunch, cba any other way. I didn`t have either of my good drinks today, don`t want to drink them after lunch

    Good evening everyone,

MTSTM - bad luck re the cat poo, I've not had that problem but my Dad does. Lots of wooden skewers they sell for kebabs seems to do the trick!

Well the forecast was correct after getting very dark it is now raining, it's still really warm though. I managed to get a fair bit of planting done early evening so they'll get well watered in.
I'm definitely quietly falling to bits though as I managed to twist my knee so between that, the tinnitus, prickly heat, the hot flushes and general wonkiness I suspect I might get the best sleep tonight. :( It was my own stupid fault though as I decided I'd be fine to move a pot a few feet without using my rollator to balance, will I ever learn......:o
I took a "smelly french cheese" stuffed patty out of the freezer to have tonight with the jersey royals cooked yesterday and various veg. It's already cooked so will be getting popped in a bowl covered in foil and popped in the steaming basket to heat up so it doesn't dry out.

The beetroot cooked earlier is in the fridge, I might freeze it tomorrow or more likely just scoff it with some salt, pepper & a splash of balsamic over the next couple of days:D.

PN if it's been in a box and not used for more than 2 years do you need it?

Yes .... it might come in handy :)
Some stuff, too, I just like owning, as it's just stuff of a sentimental nature

Earlier I opened a tin of spuds to make a spud salad ... it needs to be made the day before so the dried herbs get chance to take in moisture... but I hadn't realised I was down to my last tablespoon of salad cream!! So I had to improvise and spooned a lot of coleslaw in with the spuds for the mayo in that... added a whole chopped onion and it's in the fridge for tomorrow now. Tomorrow I'll boil some eggs to go with that - and crack open the jar of beetroot to serve on the side and I've two soft tomatoes going off that are on their last legs too ... that'll do for tomorrow.

When my ex and I split in 2006, I discovered that we had boxes in the loft unopened since we moved here in 1991:eek:, obviously nothing essential then.... He took some stuff (goodness knows what), I rescued some photos and the rest remains in situ, it's been on my "to do" for a very long time:o:o.

Moving is always a good opportunity to declutter :D as I don't want to move I'm going have to kick myself up the bum as I've made a habit of popping stuff in the smallest bedroom and I want to turn it into my office / sewing room. I have to make myself do it, it's difficult to throw away stuff as I too have that ' I might need it one day' attitude but time to be ruthless again - but not with my fabric and wool :rotfl:

Thanks for the rescue remedy tip Kittie I look next time I'm in town

I think you have been doing too much Caronc obviously making the most of the Scottish Summer :rotfl: ice and rest for the knee and an easy day tomorrow

Definitely brain fog today, I forgot to steam the beetroot

I feel a pack of sausage rolls coming on to be honest.... I ate half the spud salad last night, on its own ... so one meal today will be the rest of that, with a boiled egg and tomato and beetroot.

For the record, just counted sausage rolls.... I've been rigidly keeping a spreadsheet of every penny I spend this year...

    Sausage rolls in 2018: 144
    Sausage rolls in May: 30

    :)

Yonks ago it was so cheap to move house, people moved just because they fancied somewhere else. Very different now, it has to be a considered decision, very expensive. This thing about not taking clutter, that is what I am trying to work on, getting ready for a potential move as well as keeping the house nice for `all-of-a-sudden` EA photos, what I do remember is that you don`t get much time, maybe a week or so. I have been de-cluttering for over 3 years and think I am now down to only what I will use or for active hobbies. Not bare bones by any means, depends of how many rooms less in future and that will govern furniture de-cluttering.

I am cba wrt food today, I feel it in my bones so will go on auto pilot, started with melting cheddar on toast, salad for lunch. Thunder and lightening forcast for 12 so I am trying to grab the drying gap and will get two washes out, the second one will take 39 minutes, just very lightweight stuff. The first (small) load will take an hour and is on now. I have bedding to wash in a few days and my lines will be full then, I think we only have a day or so of drying weather ahead

I changed my mind - and, on the spur of the moment, just cooked a toasted muffin topped with baked beans and scrambled eggs :)

I'll still have the other food .... so that's "in addition to", not "instead of".

    :)

Hadnt thought of wire mesh - and could be a useful idea particularly for those raised beds. What sort of place does one buy something like that? I can think of two ironmongers - the most comprehensive one being in a town I shall now be visiting more often (having swopped to a dentist there) and wondering if ironmongers are the sort of place one gets that? and maybe some metal cooking skewer things to help pin it in place?

Unrelated query - I'm now wondering if those rescue remedy melts would work on those odd nights where one's mind is spinning so much that it's keeping me awake for some time/waking me up in the middle of the night. I usually sleep okay - but, like most of us I guess, there are those odd nights.
