So, unfortunately, until you've got a solid voice and are sure of individuals you can't just "live and let live" as you can create future problems for yourself.
I have always made my position perfectly clear on every occasion I witnessed a breach and, over time, these lessened... but with ever-changing neighbours and behaviours there's always something else to try to spot and get on top of.... and it's not easy, but it must be done else you do get walked over.I wouldn't care but there was a council tip just two miles away.

If the other neighbours were as tenacious as me over the rules it'd be easier ... because everybody would be clear on the rules and know what they are. Those who bought often didn't read their deeds; those who rent are never told.
Where there is a terrace of 4 with a gate at the end of their garden and they're supposed to have ALL their bins in their gardens until bin morning, once they're through the gate the pathway is literally a squeeze-width between their fence and two cars parked in tandem (a house in another terrace). So they should open their gate, take their ONE bin of the day through the gate, along the squeeze-path, to the end and put it on the corner.... all four bins only should be together on that corner when the waggon comes. Once the waggon's been, as they come home, they should take their bin and put it back in their garden.
If they did that they would all have a clear pathway to their gate. As it is, that squeeze-path is always clogged with a variety of their bins which they've put out there "to make more room in the garden/don't want to sit and look at them". But that's not how the deeds and everything's set out.... it also endangers the cars that are parked by all their bins, especially if it gets windy.
What they do doesn't affect me one tiny bit - I am just annoyed that they probably don't know and are probably annoyed themselves, but they don't know the rules as they all rent. And, because people don't know rules it just "creeps" into nobody knowing the rules about anything...and that's when it becomes mayhem.0 -

I once drove home from work (approx. 12 miles) worrying about a slight but annoying rattling it turned out to be a sweet in my door pocket! luckily I noticed it as I got out of the car so didn't have to confess to anyone. To make it worst I had put it there in the morning.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
pineapple & brambling :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:thankfully worked out before the garage visits.
I'm so glad I have no freehold/right of way issues. Although I live in a terrace there is a back lane from which bins are collected so folk can take them in/leave them out as they wish. Our bins are supposed to go out the night before as they can be emptied from 5am (and sometimes are) which is murder on streets with narrow pavements and no back access!
I've a night off from cooking as younger son is bringing in fish suppers.0 -
I'm glad I don't have right of way paths etc. I certainly would be to worried to go out and tel people they can't walk there, big softy I am .I hate confrontation.
I've had the jacket potato with beans and cheese, and salad ,very nice it was too. I'm not having afters as when the girls get here well have nibbles .:beer:Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
Lunch today was rather late and was a 2nd portion of "sorta bolognaise" I'd done again (nearly finished using up that soya bean mince - whew!), with toast (as it was so late I wasn't going to "cook" anything to go with it). Followed by a banana and some medjool dates.
Dinner - still feeling a bit disheartened after a stranger-to-me was rather off-ish this morning was avocado toast topped with tomato (quick/healthy/suited my mood) and followed by an apple. Time for some rice milk in a minute (also suits my mood after that). The ways ones mind works sometimes I know:rotfl:0 -
Freezer dived chilli and rice for lunch it was a larger portion than I would usually have lunchtime so haven't eaten any dinner yet maybe grapes with brie and crackers later if I get hungry.
I'm joining PN with tooth problems I lost a filling this afternoon although it doesn't hurt as it's a front tooth repaired from when I broke the tooth previously. I just need a piece of straw and dungarees to be a real hillbillyI was lucky to just catch the dentist before they closed and to get an appt for Tuesday so I'll have to work from home. Just what I need with a trip to the vet in the afternoon.
I seem to be paying out a lot at the moment I pick up new glasses tomorrow which costed more than the car service and new tyres really bad planning to book both on the same day. Although when I said that to the girl in Spec Savers they took £50 off the glasses :T will need to borrow from savings to pay CC this month

I'm not well. I'm never ill, so this sucks.
It's "just a cold" but not nice. I felt something coming up on Tuesday when my throat felt a little enlarged.... and by last night I was sneezing.
This morning I have the tight/enlarged throat, runny eye, snotty nose. Also, the top of my leg hurts, just below the hip, so I struggle to raise my foot more than 2" off the floor. Tricky to even put socks or shoes on! I hope that bit's just "flu like achey symptoms" and not "look, you're getting arthritis, aren't you old now and doddery!"
But I do need/want bread rolls, so will try to pull myself together for that, although my head is a bit wobbly, so I might just bin that idea as I think I'm too shakey/wobbly to drive really. I've over an hour before the shop opens, so time to try to function physically and establish if I'm getting worse or better.0 -
roads were packed yesterday, caravans, camping trailers, heading for devon and cornwall. Its horrible out, very grey, wet and frost and I am awful glad to be able to stay in all weekend. I got rid of my electric blanket, I was a princess and it felt like sleeping on peas. Hot water bottles ordered yesterday. Start of a cold PN, horrible, sometimes that is the worst time unless sinuses get blocked or it goes to chest, stay warm, as much as you can
I had jumbo porridge for breakfast, was the nicest I ever had. Soaked it in milk, overnight in the fridge, added water and cooked this morning. I only knew it was so nice because I cooked it for the children and me yesterday. I have had jumbo oats many times in my life but these oats were properly jumbo. This company sent me 3 free bags, they often do freebies with an order, they send an e mail and a code

I need to eat veggies as main today, don`t think I even had 5 yesterday. I have 3 large parsnips and will semi roast for the freezer, I have leeks and potatoes so leek and potato soup, again to freeze. I have kale, purple sprouting, lettuce, carrots and so on. I really feel like easy and hot food in a bowl today so will do a bean, wholegrain rice thing in my rice cooker and will add all the veg nearer finish, to steam. Probably thin turkey breast and lettuce sandwich for last meal
Got to make more crumbles, berry and apple. I have rm crumble mix and have taken frozen berries and apple out. Its an easy way to get 2 a day and I make 4 in cups, they keep well
I have nice things handy, cake and scones in the freezer, hm bread for toast, dark chocolate0
