I've always paid all bills in full when they arrive, on the basis of "if something big occurs/I lose my job/whatever, then I don't have to worry about payments coming out monthly that need to be covered".

It's just the way it works for me, mentally, as they're paid and I can forget them. With little disposable income, it gives you time to "adjust" to tighter times over coming months when new big bills come in ... and not immediately/overnight/this month.

    ... and another thing :)

I forgot to mention it earlier. L1dl's are continuing their march for gentrification. I wandered past their special offers selection for the week - and saw something listed that I hadn't even heard of, ever.

So I've just googled their offers:

This was what it said https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/Offers.htm?articleId=11460 - although looking at that, below the price sign was something else that I didn't know what it was, which I can now see turns out to be https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/Offers.htm?articleId=11459

The other two items were lemons and spinach, which aren't on my list ever (except the occasional lemon round about Xmas) - I've never a need for 500g of them!

Raining when I got up, if it had not been for booked blood test I would've stayed in. Sun's out now

However after blood extraction it was doodling around S/ms. Stoke of luck today, loads of KP peanuts and other brand all YS down to 30p for 275g.
I bought some, I don't eat peanuts, too many calories per gobful for me, but this weekend is DGS birthday party with a buffet, so they can go in there, kid's mucky sticky fingers and all

I was astounded, some of the mixed nut packs, down to 25p, were 1.99 before. I assume no one is mug enough to pay 1.99 for 90g of mixed nuts hence still on shelf and having to be RFQ

Breakfast was HM yoghurt with honey, just normal bloods, not fasting this time

Lunch was another PB baguette, this time I opened a tin of corned beef to go with the salady innards

Dinner will be same corned beef, with the LO spuds, fried in butter, with shallot in a sort of omelette, with grated cheese on top. May slice a beetroot on top if I think of it at the time

Money, you'd like Chester, Brighton & Cambridge. Worth a trip IMO. I know you don't "do" history but Chester I found excellent, and a quick way round was walking along the top of the Roman wall. There was a good Jazz pub on the river at the time. Unfortunately they do put gravy on the chips & salad in Chester:eek:

Funnily enough I was thinking about getting some of the lemons on offer & making lemon marmalade. Mango I've had, for me it can join avocado in the Ok if it turns up category

And another two sausage rolls .... went to get the car and they said I have an oil leak .... but to find out what/where they'd want over £140 to do a "diagnostics" on it .... so I drove it away in a low mood ..... I need to find another/cheaper way to find out what sort of leak/where.

They should wear a mask and ride horses through the woods....

Years ago a bloke in overalls would lean over the engine for about 2-3 minutes and say "ah, it's there, that'll be X or Y".

So the sausage rolls are to cheer me up a little as I really don't fancy thinking about eating after that surprise.

Yep...Chester is on "the list" as well being "one of these days I will - have a long weekend or summat there".

Is also trying to remember name of a more attractive city over on east side of England that has a river like I've dreamed of (seems to recall there's one there that has punts or the like on the river - so that might be the city I'm looking for).

Back to the googling - got an empty new ceramic pot to fill in the garden and don't know what to fill it with (am thinking evergreen/perennial/not bog-standard "everyone has it" - and it would be good if it's useful one way or another - maybe herbal medicine type useful.....).

    Good afternoon everyone,
Excellent haul with the nuts Farway, best check though none of the junior party goers are allergic:eek:
Ouch PN re the oil leak, tbh I tink you might struggle to get it fixed for less unless you know any obliging mechanics;)

MTSTM - were you thinking of Ely?

I now have a SMART meter again, the chap that fitted it was lovely despite the fact that he must have spent most of today crouched in the rain. Despite his waterproofs he did look rather damp round the edges!

I wasn't that hungry at lunch time so didn't bother defrosting any soup and just had a roll with pate & salad. I've just finished scoffing a rather large apple though as I was peckish. Casserole is quietly defrosting for later:).

That wasn't to fix it - that was to tell me what needs to be fixed :)
If it'd been that to fix it I'd have said "go on then"

I nipped in Mr ts ,after work, got a few bits to hopefully tide me over, the broccoli was Y's so got 2 will make soup , cauliflower and carrots also Y's.
Back from sisters, I've made 4 pizzas as I now have bases. 3 gone in freezer 1 eaten for tea, with onion peppers mushrooms, chilli, and half spicy chicken other half last bits of smoked salmon trimmings.
Had a yogurt corner with raspberries in and seeds.

I'm glad I don't have a car!!!! They seem to cost a lot!!
