I'm another fan of the JO book 🙂 I cooked the sweet n sour pork again tonight

i picked my my sister up today, if we go into lock down my BIL will pick her up early.  Not a bad journey except the speed restrictions on the M27.  She's already spotted the one cobweb I missed during yesterday's tidy up 🙄 I'm just hoping it doesn't rain too much as I've plans for her to tidy my back garden for the winter 😁

My sister provided lunch HM minestrone soup with soda bread.  Dinner was the sweet and sour pork with rice and stir fried veg

Breakfast was 3 scrambled eggs on 2 toast. Splash of brown sauce.
These are the Mr T cheapo 15-eggs, which are mixed sizes, some quite small. I picked the three smallest, in part to get rid of the smallest first in case I've a better use for larger ones later.
My preference is L1dl/4ldi boxes of 10, but I've still not managed to get to either of those, due to a complex combination of: CBA, choice, what else is higher priority/in another shop.

These days I mostly shop at Mr T, for their "4ldi price match" items + their cheaper/better range of cheapo ready meals.  That means going to L1dl/4ldi is "another shop to potentially battle with", so 2nd shop visits rarely occur.  In Ye Olden Days it'd not been any hassle to go into 2-3 shops for bits and "see what they've got", a browse, an amble.  Or to pop in, just for one preferred item.  Not now.  Now it's guerilla style planned and executed visits".  In/grab/out, soonest and with least problems or interventions.

Barbara has arrived here as well, weather warning issued, that's your gardening cunning plan wrecked Brambling
My only gardening today is the likely arrival of a seed order

The Gammon joint in SC plan has failed, up late again. Looking like wrapped in foil in the cast iron pot in low oven later today
Lunch is a bit muddled, I have part baked rolls / baguettes that are getting close or past dates so I'm using them up, now I can at last get bread flour / mixes etc on line

I've taken a couple of tasty sausages out to defrost, and once ready I'll cook in oven, with  a couple of PB petit pains joining them later to bake
Thus it's kinda hot dogs for lunch

Then as oven is on, turn it down & pop the gammon joint in later
Not sure how to use the joint for dinner, CBA to cook veg etc, so could be eggs & chip or bone idle use the other two PB petit pains and just have ham rolls

    Good morning everyone,
It's a manky day here too, the fence guys have been rained off. Hopefully it will be drier tomorrow.
Glad your sis was able to visit Brambling
Farway, I'd be opting for gammon, egg, chips & beans  :)
My sis brought her new pooch over for a quick garden visit. He's just adorable  <3<3
Elder son got his cast replaced, it's a nastier break than first thought unfortunately. They'll review in two weeks but may need to pin it so it heals properly.  :(
Lots of the toms on the conservatory have ripened at once so I'm just about to bung a load in the SC with garlic, oregano and olive oil, the house will smell lovely this afternoon.
JO salmon en croute again tonight, we'll have it with asparagus, broccoli and baby spuds. HM L&P soup, crackers and fruit for lunch.

Found a house... didn't want a house... but it's bizarre.

    On at £325k 2 september.
Today, on at £270k with a new listing, same agent.
£270k is the right price currently for that .... or is there something I don't know?
    Better phone them
3 bed semi, garage, nothing "special", just a regular 3 bed semi, modernish, "family home" layout.  So, not what I had in mind, but that price is inviting.

EDIT: Ah, found the catch.  "Subject to an undisclosed Reserve Price" and it's what they call a "Modern Auction" (a peculiar thing that nobody understands).  In short: you have to pay extra fees on top of the price.

I'll sit on it then.... do nothing.  Not "that" interested + the auction thing is "off putting" to say the least.

You have to pay £300 just to get sight of the "Buyer Information Pack".
    PFFFT springs to mind.

PN, had me excited for a moment there, but like you, especially a cash buyer, I'd be sitting tight.
I heard a report on t'wireless yesterday, seems with current & likely economic outlook, redundancies etc lots of properties are over valued now.
They may have been "worth it" a bit back but now the building societies are looking at how they would get their money back in a forced sale, Loan to Value, and the sums do not work out, so any loan offer will be far less than the asking price. Reality is creeping in

Having started with scrambled eggs/toast for breakfast, about lunchtime I had 1/3rd of a cheesecake.  As I've started that, ideally I need to finish it tomorrow.  I put it in the fridge from the freezer to defrost yesterday, so it needs to be eaten within 2-3 days.

About 4ish I opened my pack of burgers. lamb/mint.
Served in a flatbread with cheese and ketchup.
I know cheese and ketchup aren't right for a lamb/mint burger, but it was nice enough still.  Burger was out of this world. Loved it.

    Back to sun today
Last night's gammon turned out well with plenty of LO.
I think the double wrap in foil [to prevent leakage] inside a cast iron pot on low gas oven is ideal for me, no washing up & fall apart gammon

Lunch today will be last of the PB petit pains, with some of the gammon inside, maybe a sliced tom? Or some cheese?
Dinner, after yesterday's tasty ham, eggs, chips & beans tasty but but not much green today is ham, baked spud + salad.
I may pop the LO beans in the spud to serve

Had a quick edit of my Morrie's delivery for tomorrow, took celery & mint sauce off, added digestive biscuits

    Good morning everyone,
The system you're describing PN sounds pretty similar to how houses are sold up here. Properties usually come on the market at offers over £x (usually around  or slightly below the home report value which the seller is responsible for paying for) and then if there is a few folk interested a closing date is set for offers to be lodged so if you really want somewhere you bid high and keep your 🤞. The seller is not obliged to take the highest offer or any for that matter.
Farway must be online shopping delivery edit day, I need to finalise my Tesco one that's coming tomorrow.
It's dryish here and the fence guys arrived first thing. They should finish the work today, I'm looking forward to having a private and secure garden once more
Last of the HM L&P soup for lunch and sausage, egg, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns for dinner.
