For DS1s birthday we have bough Joseph tickets for its tour, coming to Glasgow in sept. He will love this! Amazing seats - the best available in terms of viewing - for under £50 each. As it's their first show I wanted them to see from great seats (and so much cheaper than London).

I am sure that I want to take them to quite a lot of classic theatre shows, DS1 particularly loves musicals. I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE LION KING - CAN ANYONE HELP?

Lion King is coming to Edinburgh, over winter - so at a time we look for activities to do. It would be unbudgeted for though - and if I took them to pretty good seats it would be £90 per ticket! For poorer seats it would be about £75, and I do think while they are young good seats are important to ensure they enjoy. Neither of them love the Lion King but I've heard its amazing. Not sure what to do - It would be £270 for me and the 2 boys - ouch!!

They will be 9 and 7.

    Thanks Apple.

I suppose the fact that I'm questioning it means I probably shouldn't! And it's a lot of money. And they are going to Joseph this year. Maybe I'll see how they are there first and if the prices come down.

    I love Joseph.
I would not pay for the Lion King at those prices.
    That’s just me.

Wow. Thats a lot of money - I mean, I suppose people spend that on travel and whatnot, but ... I'd struggle to pay those amounts, especially since they don't love Lion King itself. What's a normal matinee price for theatre in Edinburgh?

Think about half of that price Karma. I have decided to leave Lion King for the moment.

Had some really long and demanding training about suicide today, same again tomorrow. It's catered and there is just so much unhealthy food there which isn't good - means I have to rely on willpower when faced with lovely home baking :)

Also I feel a bit drained with all of the emotions. I visited my friend on the way home, she seemed ok. My responses to her situation a few months ago were ok, but wish I'd been on this training first - a proper action plan for suicide prevention. Reflecting on it, I will be glad I have done it.

So tonight I need to finish off tea, make packed lunch for ds1. Maybe go for a walk later...

Great second day of training and I feel that I'm much more equipped to talk to people thinking about suicide. Apparently 1 in 20 will be touched by it. I can think of many people around me touched by it, so I'm pleased I feel a bit more confident. So important with my job.

Anyway, eating was OK today. I exercised today - just gently - but still getting back to normal feels good. I got a lot of little jobs completed as well. Fish Pie in the freezer, so just cottage pie and chilli to make.

    Tomorrow:
    - make cottage pie
    - catch up at work

I've decided to do a little bit of gardening every morning - 15 mins, just to get my muscles working and stretching a bit before I exercise!

Also need to work out how to 'make' free topsoil.

My younger girls probably 7 and 11 at the time loved the Lion King musical, we had matinee tickets in the west end. Me and the youngest went again to Liverpool when she was a terrible teen... It was still amazing. Huge amount of money now though.

Thanks moneyfor dreams. Yes I'd still like to go but at a better price!

Had a brilliant weekend. Relaxing day on Saturday, hairdressers for the boys (£8 spent), messing about on the football pitch - free.

MIL baby sat and OH and I wentout with friends for a meal and few drinks (I drove to avoid taxi's) it was great and very cheap.

On Sunday we had football matches and then I packed a picnic and we went straight on to a 'theme park' with free tickets. It was good not really a theme park, but the kids enjoyed mini rollercoasters and a big water slide with rafts. We ate at MIL's so it was a really cheap weekend.

Today I was at work and got a bit more organised. My friend got in touch and wanted childcare help so OH and I helped - so not much else done.

I cooked a cottage pie and chilli for the freezer, so I'm all ready for the students. I've done a bit more summer planning, and asked another relative to help for a couple of hours - with a bit of swapping around hours I have managed to do childcare in the summer for £16, not including a sports activitiy for 1 week for each child - will make this a birthday present. I have probably decided against camping due to the midges being bad in August. Not completely decided though!

5 days left before my holiday for 1 week swiftly followed - the next morning - by students arriving for 3 weeks. Something on each day that is stealing my time - today my friends kids, tomorrow an appt, wed and thur tutoring.

Need to catch up on work for OH and cleaning.

I also need to do a bit more holiday prep.

    - dye my hair and other such improvements
    - pack the cases - I have a list
    - decide if I want to take a fan

I also need to tie everything up at work so I can have an easy return.

I want to take things slow as well and relax and enjoy the end of term. You all tell me to breathe....So I'm off to relax so I can have a good run at things tomorrow but I will take it steady.

Some of my family went to the Lion King last time it was on in Edinburgh and raved about saying how amazing it was - they hadn't particularly loved it beforehand and it was cheaper then.

My niece has booked to go again this time taking her 5 yo and OH. Its had lots of advertising and promotion in the city but I personally think its too expensive especially for a family.
