It has been a lot colder today here too. I think the warmer period (even though very wet) before Xmas led me into thinking we where going to be luckier weather wise this year.

Sounds like a lovely day and good idea on the boys spends. Mine love popcorn even more so if we pop it in a pan and not a microwave. Youngest really finds it hilarious!

Have a lovely evening with relatives

Arrghh my cold will not be gone! Maybe its a second cold? Anyway up a lot in the night and awful sore throat today - could only just speak today at lunch club, but it was quiet anyway. Took the boys with me to 'help'.

OHs birthday today. He is treating it like any other day, but we are going out for tea at his mums later - a very cheap birthday. I made a voucher up for the barcelona holiday and he seems quite happy that we are all going.

My 1 thing to get me closer to my goals that I did today was more education about sugar/ teeth for the boys. A couple of video clips watched and we looked at some packaging too.

This afternoon we watched a lovely film together and relaxed. Tomorrow afternoon we have some friends to play and are going on a walk with them. Same Saturday morning - ds2s friend to play. The first week of school I'll leave the play dates but the week after I'll get into a routine of asking one child per week, alternating choices.

Yes think it's good to teach them to be resonsible with spends. It's funny that mine don't seem to want an item when I say they have to buy it themselves. It's hard to watch them make mistakes, but it's better to make mistakes now than later in life. DS1 bought lots of football cards with his birthday money and then couldn't afford new items from the sports shop when he wanted to. This time he has kept all of his Christmas money and is looking forward to buying things in the spring.

Yesterday lunch club was quiet. I took some tupperware and brought home soup and sandwiches as they would have been binned. Today we have one of ds2s friends to play and lunch, and then one of my friends and her 3 children coming for lunch too (I'm a bit worried about her), so we should use it up.

Yesterday I managed a weekly shop (£47) well stocked up on cleaning products as there was a sale. I have £3 to spend on bread if I need it.

I think I'll try to invite my friends - all mums - here at least once every major school holiday - Christmas, Easter, Summer and October. A walk and a snack here is fine - doesn't have to be lunch etc. The boys can chose a couple of friends too. Grouping it all together means that I don't have to do lots of tidying up of toys etc!

Still not feeling 100% so I'm not counting this week as a week of achieving. Managed to create a date night in meal with OH last night which was a nice way to relax.

Those are useful links, thanks for that. My sister's going so sugar-free she currently won't drink fruit juice, which is freaking me out a bit, as I certainly weigh more than her ...

Thanks for poppping by. Busy day today, one play date this morning with lunch, followed by another this afternoon with my friend and 3 children. I habent seen her for while and I was a bit worried. Im even more worried now, she is really in trouble. I have to let her make her own way with things but I've just let her know that I'm here for her. Still quite shocked about what's happened/happening.

So I need to shake myself and get on with what I need to do here- tidy up, do tea, bath kids and me.
