I'm so sorry this isn't going to be a very uplifting post, but it will be completely real and I'd rather be that way.
Money making is going really well, I'm up at 8 hours a week tuition, and I also have the go ahead to have a student to teach and stay at Christmas, and our lodger seems to be ok until the student comes, so I have really managed to give our income a big boost. Money saving is going well too - I've stopped drinking all together so that has reduced our grocery bill, and I've been meal planning and keeping to our budget. Both boys have recovered from injuries and are now back doing sport of an evening as well.
So a lot of things have happened which have just left me feeling a bit bewildered lately.
- being suddenly very busy
- more restrictions and feeling a bit fed up with not much planned for the kids- more things cancelled.
- my job changing and changing again
- the worst period pains ever experienced - I passed out, OH said I have never looked as ill -even in childbirth!!!
- ongoing back and foot pain but trying to reduce use of pain killers
- my schedule never going to plan
- little motivation to workout
- not sleeping well and not getting up when I want to be
- always feeling behind with everything but when I get time to catch up, not feeling motivated and in fact just wanting to sleep/read/relax. But never feeling I can do those things as I have so much to do.
So I really need to pull my socks up. And put on my big girl pants whilst I'm there. I need to be grateful for what I have and the opportunities that life offers, and not dwell on the things that make me feel fed up or want to give up.I am so lucky. I need to do those things like read and relax, and I need to do them guilt free. I need to take care of myself and try to avoid being in pain if I can.
Things that I am procrastinating about:
- marking
- other big tasks at work
- working on OHs business
I'm still feeling really unwell but I'm kind of coping with working from home a bit more. Being unmotivated is just not like me so I am going to strip things down to the minimum, and work in sprints, until I can shake off this little dip. I'm going to sort out my morning and night routines to be easier and simpler, delegate as much as I can and get those procrastination points out of the way. Hopefully I'll feel better very soon!!

Earthie, you like to be so busy, its not surprising that you have dips - plus, life *is* uncertain right now, planning is almost impossible - look at all the fuss on the news today about Christmas - and its less than 6 weeks away! Plus, erm, pain thats bad enough that you passed out? Erm, thats really, really important! Keep your intake of protein and iron etc as high as possible. Sleep, too
Good luck with it all.2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
I don't think that pain bad enough for you to pass out is something for pain killers to deal with. I doubt you could get much that would actually deal with that much pain. I hope you are having it investigated.

I also hope that you are having the pain investigated. That sounds dire.I hope that you are being kind to yourself.I do worry that you are doing too much.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Thank you for your kindness and comments. I really was in quite a bad way.
Well I'm feeling much better both mentally and physically!
I've got caught up on OH's work.
I'm halfway through my marking - planning on more today.
I've delegated some tasks at work - I'm thinking of more!
I've made changes to my routine and school timetable so I can get more done.
So today is a day off workI've the kids to amuse. but I'm hoping to multitask a bit of marking as well if I can keep them busy with something. I'll throw a curry in the slowcooker and Film night tonight where I might just flop!

Whilst all the above is good & no doubt helping the problem. It will never fix it. Don't use it to shelve your (medical) problem until next month, then the month after. I am amazed that OH has not dragged you to the drs by the scruff of the neck - unless you are lying to or denying to him that there is something wrong. Last year my "friend" dragged me to the osteo because I kept having back trouble. I cannot imagine what he would do if I reached the stage where I was passing out. I was incidentally VERY annoyed with him.5 -
