That certainly wasn't my experience of DMs. Any that I worked with would want a lot of detail before saying "Yes, xyz will be OK." They may respond more readily with 'No, that won't be OK'.0 -
Just an aside - insulin does not automatically=weight gain.It may be that way for you (as a type 1) but it is that belief that causes type 1 diabetics to omit insulin they must take to live in order to lose weight (known as 'diabulimia'.)0

If it was me I would absolutely under no circumstances do anything that is a grey area last thing you want is benefit fraud on your file. The rules clearly state change of circumstances. You do not have a change of circumstance until that money hits your account, just because 15k is written is your inheritance does not mean you will get that amount, it could be contested, could be other debts to the estate. When you get the money in cleared funds then whilst notifying the DWP of your change of circumstances include your plan on what your planning on doing with it with research and medical notes from specialist and GPs with evidence on how it could improve your life or deteriorate it if it does not go to plan etc. Their medical experts will make a decision.0
