Is the Halifax Reward switching bonus of £100 repayable, in the event that you either switch or close the account down within say the first month or two of switching to them in the first place?0

First, the online application had me going round in circles, with each link leading back to the first. I received four emails, none of which made sense. When I rang the first time, I was told my browser might be at fault. On the third phone call, I was told that I couldn't apply online because I am an existing customer. My hubby and I had ISAs with First Direct which we closed over 10 years ago. We then had to spend 90 mins on the phone going through a ridiculously long process, with the agent insisting on individual financial answers even though all our finances are joint. We had to make up answers just to get through the process. At the end, we were told that we had to jump through more hoops. Now we have to get certified copies of our passports and a credit card/utility bill and send them in. We have recently moved house and don't know anyone in this area so we are likely to have to pay someone. They could make it easier by allowing us to take our passports and bills to a HSBC bank, but no. Not impressed.
We've had the same problem; my fiance has just moved in with me and it took 2 hours over the phone to apply for the account, we heard nothing for 2 weeks then just received forms in the post to sign and return, which we did. A week later he received a letter asking for certified copies of his ID - we don't know if this includes me or not (they may not need mine certifying because I'm on the Electoral roll at my address), or if there's any way to avoid paying for certification. Granted after switching we'll not be out of pocket but we expected the switching process to take 7 days - we had no idea the account opening process would take a month!
Any suggestions?0 -

Hi all,
This TSB 5% account, is it the first £2k that only gets interest or do you get 0 interest if the account goes over that?
And if the latter, does it not pay interest if you go over the amount for even a minute?
Many thanks.0 -
