No, sometimes he says "Email, complain and and ask for compensation."
Variations on a theme then! How creative :rotfl:0 -
So far everything going well. I remember when I had my first bank account with Natwest in 1970. If you wanted a statement they typed it up in branch while you waited. Also it was known as National Provisional Bank then.0

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but I don't have time to read 44 pages . . .
Is it me, or is the NatWest process insanely complicated?
I still can't register for online banking or for the app because you need all kinds of information that they send out in dribs and drabs. No other bank makes it this difficult. You need your customer number, your activation code, your sort code, your account number . . . and these all arrive separately and not even at the same time.
Yet when I applied for the account it said, "you'll be up and running within a day". Ha! Hardly.
I got my debit card today, but it only has the sort code on it and not the account number — so I still don't even know that basic detail. And I've finally got my customer number but I'm still waiting for the activation code.0 -

Not wishing to nit pick, however I think it was National Provincial Bank?0 -

Nothing new, either find the time to read back on the thread and laugh/cry, or sit back patiently for the cogs to grind slowly on...0 -
NatWest are giving away £125 for nothing and the forum gets 44 pages of people complaining that they have to comply with the bank's account opening security processes.0

I guess there's no rush. I'm not going to use the account, and they don't pay out till April.
It's interesting how much the banks differ in their procedures and processes. Having become a bank tart in the last year, I've opened quite a few accounts. My favourite is TSB, which I've kept.0 -

I'm not complaining exactly. But the NatWest process does seem ridiculously overcomplicated — certainly compared with other banks that I've opened accounts with.
True, I'm a bank tart, but I'm willing to offer loyalty to a well-organised, customer-focussed bank. I wouldn't want to switch my TSB account because the offering is a good one (decent interest) and the process was simple and worked without a hitch. And the app works well. And they didn't even need to pay me to sign up.0 -
Does anyone know if the account needs to 'by 16 February', does it include the 16th? We are buying at the moment and don't want to open the account in case it affects our mortgage. It is possible that we will complete on the 16th Feb and just want to check if we will still be eligible for the switch offer if we apply on the 16th Feb?0
