  • Great offer but disappointing policies. I have had an RBS select account since 2015 and yet Natwest won’t give me a bank account. Not a select, or even their basic account!! I have normal current accounts elsewhere and nationwide opened a flexplus yet Natwest don’t want to touch me.

Bare in mind I had a Natwest select account for three years up until I was bankrupt (no Natwest debts) and they downgraded the account to basic. I closed it but then rbs gave me a select with them and kept it open.

Since then Natwest won’t touch me.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I still have a drawer full of Natwest readers from my YB switching frenzy 3 years ago! :D

nat west take them back and reuse them!
  • After phoning in on Saturday to pass a security check, have this morning received confirmation (by text and e-mail) that switch has been confirmed for the 2nd Feb (scheduled for the day after the Halifax Feb Reward payment - I was going to delay until 2nd March and get the March payment too, but decided that £3 was not worth the risk of the incentive being pulled\changed.)

As I understand it, once your application has been accepted you have qualified for the incentive if you switch and meet deposit requirements by the due dates.

I've completed the application and it told me I was accepted and I then completed the switch application but I've had no sign of a text or email confirmation. Is this normal? I asked for online banking when I made the application but was not asked for any identification details although I did bank with NatWest from 1969 until 2014 so maybe they don't need any? I didn't really have any current accounts I wanted to switch as all mine and my wife's pay interest but I've switch one of my 3 BOS because according to Moneysaving Expert I can still apply for a 3rd account which I intend to do if and when the switch to NatWest is complete.

I applied online last week but have today got a letter from Natwest asking for ID documents to be posted or processed in branch. I was not given the offer of uploading ID during the application process.

Annoyed by this - I thought companies did electronic verification nowadays and I'm certainly on the Electoral Roll, etc

Any thoughts on why this should be? (though of course I will go to the branch with my ID for £125..)

"Just choose 'switch' when you apply below. You'll need to pay in at least £1,500 and log in to Online Banking or our Mobile
Banking app by 16 March 2018. We'll pay the £125 cash into your new account by 13 April"

Regarding £1,500 funding requirement I understand it will need to be paid before 16 March 2018 and the Money does not need to stay there.

So basically I could use FPI and use FPO of £1500 on the same day ? Is my interpretation correct ?

    Thanks
