Well, I telephoned them and amazingly spoke to someone almost immediately. He said that they will be sending out an email explaining that there has been a delay and they are working on it: he hopes that the email will be sent by the end of the week!

    Words fail me!

I have also logged an online complaint as I would rather not spend all afternoon on hold... We will see.

For those who can't find it, the online complaints form is at the bottom of this page - it is not part of online banking.

thanks for the link after waiting for natwest to get in touch i realised that wasn't going to happen any time soon if at all i've logged my complaint and waiting to hear back. thanks again for the link.

the fact they think it should take them a week to tell their customers about an error is beyond laughable and will they ? my hunch is if you don't complain they won't do anything hoping you'll forget your due a switching bonus.

Complaints team have given me the date of 27th also.

    Appalling.
  • I logged a complaint online, just got a phone call back. They have gave me £30 compensation immediately (which I’ve received) and have said I will receive the £125 by the 27th April.

She then asked if I was happy for her to close the complaint. Which I agreed.

Looks like the £30 will become the de facto benchmark for the many in a similar situation on here then, although personally I wouldn't have agreed to close the complaint until the £125 had actually been paid, rather than it being promised for the end of next week....

Existing customer (and the account is actually my genuine main bank account) - still not paid.

Have just raised a complaint via the online form.
  • I've just had a call back from the complaints team, they had compensated me on Saturday and closed the complaint but had called to update me as requested.

She told me that there has been a number of different issues so the reason my bonus wasn't paid might be very different to why someone else's wasn't paid. And apparently they have discovered that far more people have not been paid than they initially thought!

She then told me that payments will all be made by 27th April. I said that was quite ridiculous given that I was told on Saturday that they hoped to make payment by today but were saying this Friday as a precaution so as not to get people's hopes up and disappoint them again! So in goes a further complaint and I've asked for written confirmation as to why mine wasn't paid on time. Doubt I'll get any further compensation but no harm in trying!
  • Following a very pleasant call I've had my payment and an additional sum by way of an apology. Very happy with the outcome. I made sure I was polite at all times. That, combined with the compensation from my Housing Association gives me a fair chunk of cash on my birthday :)
