Ok, technically you are correct

But, B&Q is kingfisher's main 'brand'
from the Dec 2004 report

but
'SCREWFIX DIRECT’s sales fell by 6.2% to £53.4 million and the business recordeda retail loss of £1.1 million in the period'

So I should have said the company that runs B&Q also runs screwfix, but it isn't too much of a stretch to say Kingfisher in the UK IS B&Q. The difference in size is huge (1/20th)

Kingfisher used to be massive. It also owned woolworths, comet, superdrug and mvc. But sold them all off.


Now I hear but I dont know how true it is, is the reason they sold off all the other companies was to make B&Q a much better takeover target from Home Depot in the states. If you look at a home depot store it is exactly the same set up as B&Q now. Even the same orange colour on uniforms etc...
