IM I read in a Jamie o recipe that he doesn't always bother browning the meat, said he'd tried it both ways and there was no discernible difference between the one that was browned beforehand and the one that wasn't. What's your thoughts?

I think it does add to the flavour, but mainly the appearance, but whichever, if it tastes good, it’ll do for me :D

Oh blimey, did I kill the thread :rotfl:

Dinner tonight Gammon steaks, jacket spuds and coleslaw, no spud for me, just salad.

Edit: As I have the day off work, I have made 2 x Jamaican style ginger cakes, a batch of vanilla shortbread and a batch of bacon and lentil soup for warming work lunches :D

Dinner will be sausage & bean casserole that I made last week and froze (made 6 singles and a double bean casserole - which I'll add sausages to when I come to use it) and home made mash.

I have a bottle of Nando's peri-peri sauce in the cupboard which needs to be used up, a leftover from a spicy foods Christmas hamper we were given. So I'll marinate some chicken breasts in the peri-peri, then grill them and serve with a little coconut rice and some avocado and sweetcorn salsa.
  • Tonight I'll be making a pie with yesterday's leftover chicken, some leek and a bit of bacon. We'll have this with jacket potato and broccoli. Thinking of doing a SC rice pudding as well.
  • Chicken burgers, onion rings and salad, but none for me as my stomach has decided to be yucky :(
