Stir fry sauce turned out to be pad thai - very nice it was too and another thing used from the freezer *polishes halo*
Need to batch cook / use up some of the 'ingredient' things in the freezer soon too and make some meals / room. might think about using the chicken thats in there, or at least cooking it - then I can portion up the meat and use the carcass (plus two others in there) to make stockFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hi all. Mind if I join in?
We've been doing a 1940s ration challenge all week, so this evening we had:
leftover savoury mince (beef with carrots, swede, onion and some oxo/bovril gravy) topped with sliced potato and baked.
Steamed Romanesco
Steamed Kalettes
leftover mustard sauce (a roux of butter and wholemeal flour, with milk, wholegrain mustard, and a suspicion of cheese cooked into it)
Rather tasty. Not heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

I found and acquired a new vegan cookery book yesterday with 'modern' recipes that will be far tastier than some of those in my old books. Lunch today will be Broccoli Cakes with a Mango and avocado salsa using one of it's recipes, supper tonight will be gammon steaks, jacket potatoes and salad. Berries and skyr if needed and black coffee too!0

Welcome metherer . :hello:
Out all day today (waiting for the bus as we speak), so some sort of takeaway when we get home.
And hopefully some charity shop bargains to report on another thread.0 -
For lunch today we'll be having tortilla pizza as DS hasn't had a chance to try it since I discovered the recipe.
Tonight's dinner will be hm lasagne, another of DSs favourites, (handily using up the rest of the mozzarella,) with mixed veg and garlic bread.0 -
Trout fillets steamed in paper parcels with various mixed veg and a slosh of white wine, which I will serve with asparagus spears. I am currently making the thick ends of the asparagus into soup, there will be just enough for the two of us for lunch along with some lovely warm crusty bread.0

Frozen pizza for me tonight! Although I'll add some extra grated cheese, because everyone knows more cheese is preferable!Because it's fun to have money!

Welcome to the thread metherer
OH is picking at bit today so I got some parsley sauce out of the freezer and some roasted butternut squash (could've sworn I had some LO Thai green curry sauce but can't for the life of me find it) picked up some king prawns when we were in town so I'll have some of those with it, and some rice / quinoa combo. Quite looking forward to it.
Thinking I might get the pork loin out of the freezer I locate and defrost / cook that tomorrow - can I just roast it?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
