Thanks for the good wishes, folks.
Not feeling too bad today, but not 100%. Will have a potter doing some bits of sewing.
MrsLurcherwalker - thanks for the recipe, sounds lovely. I'll run it past OH although he's not as big a pie fan as I am.
Islandmaid - I remember you mentioning this cooking lesson a while ago. How exciting for you! Hope you have a great time, would be great to read more.
Dinner tonight will be gammon, new potatoes and eggs.0 -

have hauled LO turkey curry out of freezer for the men, they will be thrilled :rotfl:
Have a fabulous time
OH has said he'll do his own dinner tonight so I've got the last of the turkey out of the freezer from xmas - just a few shredded / chunky bits I pulled off the carcass. I'll have some of this for lunch with some salady bits and for dinner I'll have that mushroom risotto that's been lurking in the cupboard (packet thing) with some spinach and the rest of the turkey.
Just found a bag of cranberries in the freezer....had no idea they were there - THINK they were from Lidl last yearFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

MaddieMay thank you. I’m going to have to!
PollyCat hope your better.
IslandMaid - how exciting! That is my kind of birthday present.
Today well I was going to have left overs from last night but husband ate the lot when he came in - it was a huge bowl too. So no idea probably toast.
Tonight we are have sausages and mash with Yorkshire’s (I can never make a good toad in the hole so do separate) and carrots and broccoli. There will be onion gravy too.Gc challenge £363.53/ 500

As DS is going back to uni on Saturday, he's treating us to a pub lunch today. Doubt we'll need much for dinner, so I've made some soup - there's a recipe in the free tesco mag this month for 'magic soup', which is basically carrots, sweet potato, red onion, red peppers, tinned tomatoes, coconut milk and stock. I've added fresh coriander and garlic to mine to make it a bit more interesting - it looks and smells lovely.0

We had this - cinnamon chicken and vegetable tray bake. It was really nice and had a great flavour, but I think if I make it again I'll use a smaller onion and put it in the oven with the potatoes and stock for ten minutes or so before adding the chicken, as it was a little too crisp. I'll also add the vegetables a bit earlier too - I like my veg practically raw but again it was a bit too crisp for OH.0

Risotto was surprisingly good, I threw in some grated cheese that was threatening to go furry too. Had one portion for dinner tonight and one in the fridge. Bit of turkey left over for lunch again tomorrow too.
I've also used up some more berries from the freezer and a banana that was threatening to go brown for two smoothies that are now in the fridge.
I've also got a lot of bananas in the freezer that I kept for banana bread...except I don't like that much. Wondering if I could use them in smoothies instead?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

We often use frozen bananas in smoothies in our nutribullet - as long as your blender can handle frozen stuff, they are fine.0 -

Thanks hatful, yes the blender has an ice crushing function so no probs with frozen bananaat last I can do something with them all, kicking myself for not thinking of it sooner.
