nowt wrong with being excited. i used to have a chest freezer but i felt falling into it ( i'm very short, lol) am i bought a brand new upright 5ft one. I love it. however it didn't do too well in the very cold weather we have so it is now in my dining room. Will go back out the shed when weather warmer. Next one i buy i'm gonna make sure it is suitable for shed's. lol. At present i have a 5ft freezer and 3 fridge freezer's. however i'm getting rid of one fridge freezer to make way for another upright one. ( haven't told hubby yet he just thinks i wanna get rid of a fridge freezer i'll tell him my plans a bit later on, lol) Not that he would mind he very easy going and know how much i love applainces and cooking and food.lol

I love my big chest freezer;) Couldn't manage without it.
  • Read the manual that comes with your freezer before you make any purchases. You may have to switch it on for 24 hours before putting anything in to your new freezer.

.... suitable for garage use .....

Mind if I ask what model it is? I've been looking for something suitable to house in a shed but have yet to find anything that can cope with less than 10 degrees external temp.

Edit: Just read this on JL site....

Note: manufacturers do not recommend you keep a freezer in the garage or any other outbuilding, as it may have to use much more energy. Most models require a minimum ambient temperature of 10°C (50°F) to operate efficiently. If the outside temperature is any lower, the freezer will struggle to keep your food chilled – it may even start to defrost. If it does break down, the appliance may not be covered by the guarantee.

Oh I would love that - sadly no space! It'll make a big difference so I wouldn't worry about getting excited!

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!

It's the small JL one for #159.99 (now out of stock again) and if you read the info on it it says suitable for garage use as has internal condenser.

Yes it does say on website that it will need several hours overnight to freeze and stabilise coolants so may have to keep all the meat in the fridge until then!

Inpatience I know .. I'll probably start making a shopping list soon of what to buy. Wonder how long it takes before I decided even this one isn't big enough! lol! I'm hoping I don't just buy food to put in it and then not use it!!!! :rotfl:
