Walked into friday am meeting to see glum faces so switched myself into optimist mode (is usual mode if I am honest) and walked in going 'woot it's Friday!' and grinning ... they'll need earplugs on the Friday it's payday lol - or JJTF's noise cancelling headphones. Wonder if they do Valli cancelling headphones...

    WM x 2; TD x 2 and DW.

excellent work though I says it as shouldn't...

Roundtuit I hope things improve for you.

I haven't done a huge amount of flying.
    - went to gym class
    - found out a friend from Norwich was in the area visiting a few people so he is now invited for the eve/night. So I went to Mr T on my way home from the gym
    - Got home to find that thankfully Mr N has sorted out the guest room, bathroom and the lounge smells of polish. I've organised dinner.
    - done a bit more of a report
    - had a long phone chat with my mum and ditto my brother.

so where did the day go?

Not long back from work. Minimal flying done here - actually it is just the wm x 1 and that has only been on for 10 minutes, so I'm not sure that even counts as minimal. DH will be home in about an hour so I guess I ought to motivate myself to get dinner ready, but really cba at the moment. Instead I am contemplating finding a glass of something. It is Friday after all.
  • No flying done today. Family day today, so minimal housework will be done today or for the next few days. I will keep checking in though.

    Today's completed list was:

    Put dry washing away
    Make roast for tea tonight
Prep filling for tomorrow night's tea
Make sure the house is reasonably tidy
    Do some knitting.
    Food shop
(And one more that I can't remember, but it's done.....)

    ....
so where did the day go?
I second both of those comments.

I don't seem to have achieved much today:
    - put down mouse bait and traps in the eaves lofts
    - decluttered 4 bags of oddments and a life-size (3 ft high) stuffed St Bernard toy (who has been stuck in a box in the loft for 4 years - DH finally agreed that it was time for him to go) to the CS - fer-ling!!
    - spent an hour mostly cuddling my young friend's baby :D
    - did a quick dash through town, calling at the freezer food shop to use my voucher :money:, PO (where for the second time my packet was too thick to go through the slot so I will have to repack it again :() and bank to pay in cheque from SiL
    - cooked our main meal at lunchtime
    - had to go out to see the GP before I'd eaten all my lunch (I ate the rest when I came home again). She has ordered me to have xrays of my hands and hip, and the vampires will do lots of blood tests
    - booked xray appointment for next Tuesday :T and will get bloods done at the same time
    - took Rosie out for her usual hour
    - made an early tea because DH had to go to the horsepiddle for his pre-op before having a painkilling injection in a couple of weeks time [fingers crossed] (he is on blood thinning medication, so the injection has to be done as a day case)
    - church choirmaster rang to say that practice was cancelled tonight because 2/6 are ill. He persuaded me to play for 2 services in February while he is away (I don't mind, but his wife does the rotas and she will now have to find substitutes for me on all my other duty rotas!)
    - sat down with a :coffee: and fell asleep for over an hour - DH went straight from horsepiddle to war games (not much difference, I suppose)
    - rang SiL and chatted for half an hour
    - read emails

Ah well, tomorrow is another day :o

Lynne, I meant to ask whether we can all come over and visit you in Spain. It looks a very nice resort :j

(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed. Hope everyone has a good weekend x

    Hello :hello:

I'm not at work today - though I should have been :(. I spent most of last night in high anxiety mode and got very little sleep (and what sleep I got was dream-ridden), got up and got ready for work - on automatic pilot I think, then had a meltdown instead. Poor DS didn't know where it had come from - not sure I did tbh.

I've discovered there is a direct correlation between the number of dirty pots here and my mental health. I've not WUDUPA since Monday evening :(....I suspect that's when the downward slide into mental hell began.

Looking at possible causes I've come up with: the change in my eating habits affecting my brain chemistry?; being bored stupid at work most of the time (the novelty of not being rushed off my feet has definitely worn off - there must surely be a middle road between bored and crazily busy?); the dratted radio at work - but I think that's possibly a symptom rather than a cause (because I'm bored there's nothing to help me tune out the noise); all or none of the above :(.

Flying? I made the bed and fed the birds as part on my morning routine. Difficult to motivate myself to do anything at the minute. At least Sweetie (budgie) is happy to have my company :)

Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible (I hope!!!)

    Rxx

PS If anyone sees my mojo please send it home - it's done a runner!

I call it Visual Noise. Clutter and junk shout at me - add to that appalling artificial lights, jarring noise that's too loud to allow you to focus on one things and you get me hiding in silence in the dark for as long as possible before I end up a nervous wreck. I've even been known to lock myself in a large cupboard and switch the light off & sit down, just to have a few minute's respite.

Those earplugs are great for reducing it - as is relying upon natural daylight or at least switching the lights off and working with a particular lamp. When forced to work with somebody absolutely adamant that the flickering overheads must be on all the time, even when they aren't in the room (so turn them on when I'm working in there happily), I've even been known to stick on a pair of wayfayrers.

If you're that stressed, I suggest you focus upon your bedroom being calm to the eye (ie, not loads of stuff all over the place and, IMO, less emphasis upon intricate patterns, more block colours/a limited palette), a clean bathroom and the kitchen cleared every night. That way, you have three places in which you are free of the constant whining, shouting and chitter-chatter of a thousand things that should be somewhere where you don't have to look at them.

I can't guarantee it will fix everything, but where I've got almost full control in particular areas at work, they are so well organised, it's hard to keep other people out as they want to come in and have chats or work in there - they describe it as 'nice and calm over here'.

As I sit here, I'm vaguely irritated by the bunch of books Himself has insisted on putting on top of the bookcase rather than inside it and the heap of packaging strewn across the floor where he ordered a frame (just how I like it, slightly chunky, wood, stained black or dark brown, no embellishments) for a very stylised image of hares. I love the picture and frame, but whilst it has no physical influence upon me, I'm wondering why on earth he couldn't just pick the plastic and cardboard up and put it in the recycling every time I almost catch sight of it in my peripheral vision.

Other things that have made me feel anxious or slightly disorientated in the past have been needing a new glasses prescription and - daftest of all - having an unnoticed buildup of earwax, as that meant I couldn't quite hear properly in one ear, which must have been making me feel off kilter, even though I wasn't able to tell that my hearing had reduced on that side.

Himself was taken ill Wednesday night and I made the decision to call for an ambulance when his breathing went weird and his heartrate dropped by 50%. Couple of hours on a drip and a telling off from the Consultant for not eating properly and I went to work yesterday morning on 2 hours' sleep and not having eaten since Monday night, only to find out at lunchtime that I'd dropped my bank card somewhere on the way home at 3.30am - when the bank notified me that somebody had been on a little spending spree with it on some cheap trainers, something cheap and electrical and four hours' online gameplay. Himself didn't answer his phone when I called, either. Didn't know at that point that I'd dropped my card, so dashed home in case we'd been burgled or he'd keeled over - and promptly had a mini meltdown of my own once I'd established the house was fine. Will have to reclaim the money (thank goodness I had enough in the bank for them to let the payments go and then claim it back without it affecting the bills).

Got about 4 hours' sleep last night, struggled through work and was just about to sneak out the front door to go home fifteen minutes early when I spotted my boss the other side of the door, so had to style it out as though I'd deliberately come over to update her on the day. So I left ten minutes late in the end, as she loves to chat :)

Just spent over half an hour on the phone to the bank completing the dispute procedure. Ugh. If I get a full refund, it's been worth it, but awful line, awful distorted hold music for ages five times during the call and struggling to understand the accent of the gent in the Fraud Department. I've now got a headache to go with AF back pain.

And it's my birthday in 57 minutes. I'm old. I'm tired. I'm grey, pasty, have panda like dark circles under my eyes and I'm haggard looking. And Himself is watching Jimmy Carr and some awful quiz with Jonathan Ross and Claudia Winkleman shrieking.

    YUK YUK YUK YUK YUK.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Happy birthday for 48 minutes time Jojo

Long busy day at Autosport, 11000+ steps when my personal average is closer to 6000! Feet feel on fire. Pace myself a little more for our last day here tomorrow. Organised all my bags already. Made the most of free time with no kids or dogs for copious amounts of chilling out. Just moisturised my very tired feet

I’ve been doing little lists while I’ve had thinking time so still productive. Need to decide on my new dailies instead of dashing around every few days & being disorganised

Time to get some sleep before the hooligans who are Out for the nights out come back. Already a few in. I can hear them and of course doors slamming through the hotel. Hopefully we won’t hear the vibrations from phones on a morning in the adjoining room x
One day I might be more organised...........

Looks gorgeous doesn't it - fingers xd it's made definite.

I think it would be fantastic if some of you came over. How about a Spanish Flylady meet. I think that I can get a discount for family and friends bookings so will have to find out in due course ;)

    Dailies done
    Spanish lesson done
    Sorted/shuffled rest of small freezer
Kitchen left sparkling and all PA. Oats made

MAD = Went round with dampened cloth with disinfectant and did all switches, sockets and handles where could get without moving furniture.

H2H = My herbs, spices and sauces all live in a separate cupboard.

When I had the new kitchen a couple of years ago, I had one of the double wall-cupboards cut in half depth-wise, measured and added three shelves.

All my herbs and spices are now in alphabetical order on top shelves, jars and pots such as mustard, mint sauce etc on third shelf, which is slightly deeper, and taller stuff such as vinegar, tom sauce etc on bottom, which was left even deeper. This way I can find things instantly and see what is running low each week.

Today I wiped it out, wiped the contents, and checked all the dates were still okay.

If it's gone it's done or I don't have one
