  • Pigpen I think the idea of parents staying at school is bonkers. There is enough pressure on parents who work/have other children without that. When my eldest was very small he didnt settle well at school to begin with and that would have made him worse I think.

Still snuffly, coughing and headachy. And of course today was a day when I had a very difficult , important report to finish for a difficult, important meeting, so no taking it easy. But the day is done, I am home, everyone is fed, the house is reasonably tidy.

Sorry, havent read properly. Hugs to Mumof2 and anyone else having a hard time.

Off to put the rest of the clean washing away, make our bed and put my jim jams on. Might get a very early night tonight.

Oh and we have a small cream rug in our bedroom which looks really grubby (even though we never go in there with shoes on) so I have thrown it in the wm. Hope it survives - not entirely sure how I am going to get it dry though, will be airer and dehumidifier I think.

rage despatched on a teachers head.. in a very polite way... having a 4 year old do her homework on an ipad when they have not mastered reading and writing is just plain wrong... and I know the teachers agree.. now I am on a quest to persuade the deputy head.. I am not happy!! Pixie wants to learn, she can use an ipad.. she needs to read and write...

Homework in Early years full stop grrrrrrrrr
Yes reading, maybe some counting or some collect this/find out this, but children are soooo tired at the end of their school day they need to rest and play and talk to their parents/carers. Grrrrrrr.

Anyway, onto my flying. Really pleased again today, hall, stairs and landing looking lovely. So that's 4 rooms in 3 days, ok, the really yucky ones are still to come (kitchen & bathroom) the dining room is a through room that everything seems to gather in, and the cellar is looking like a car boot warehouse. So, guess what's going to have to be on my list at some point??

    Today's list:

    Volunteering area of responsibility updates
    Dry washing away
    Make lasagne for tea
    Education consultancy work
    Vacuum door mat
    Wipe switches & sockets
Dust banister, rails And skirting boards
    Clear out 'man tin'
    Vacuum floors
Wash front door inside & out
    Meal plan revisions
    Shopping list into my supermarket.

2 things left to do (not sure whether they'll get done or not)
Sort some lesson plans for supply teaching
Mad 1/2 hour in loft (this is going to be on going forever!!!)

Tomorrow my main focus is being a mum, need to take Pickle out and I'll do the food shopping while both him and hubby have their nap tomorrow.

    Have a good evening everyone.

It's been really good to read all the posts and see that I'm not alone in not getting a lot of flying done this week - I was starting to feel guilty! After the 60 - 90 minute commute home from work I just want to eat and veg. I've sorted out a bit of paperwork tonight - not much, but at least something. ;)

Ah the lovely spice list! I must update mine. Although last week when I was looking for something faintly obscure, I then thought to check the spice list, handily stuck inside the cupboard door from the last time it was on a Kitchen list, and what do you know?? I didn't have any of said spice! If only I had checked the list first...

Kitchen tidied, washing sorted for tomorrow, lunches sorted.

    Evening folks

Thank you Fayolle for the kind comment

Thinking of those with arthritis - I started suffering in my hands and feet a couple of years ago. Since then I have taken some powdered ginger and cinnamon on my porridge every day and it seems to have retreated so far, touch wood, with only the occasional twinge when I get really cold.

    Dailies done
    Spanish lesson done
Sorted/shuffled top two shelves in small freezer
Mr T order arrived. Checked and PA

MAD = Drawers 4 & 5 in kitchen. Tipped, hoovered and wiped out. Mostly replaced but a few things to CS bag

H2H = Emptied and wiped top cupboard in kitchen that holds vinegars, oils, cereals etc. Threw out couple of odds and empty jar. Wiped rest and replaced tidily.

If it's gone it's done or I don't have one

See, Dot is in yr 1 .. she has to write a whole paragraph and does spelling tests and they are looking at having a whole class who are struggling with pencil control and unable to form letters... it doesn't bear thinking about!! I know that is extreme.. Pixie is the youngest in her class and perfectly capable of most of the foundation work and is doing some of the Yr1 work but she gets home from school and does work books for fun, I am not going to discourage that... but I do worry about her progress!!

I've done nothing all week too and tomorrow I have 2 appointments (9:30 & 11) and OH is at work from 1 so I'll be doing nothing then too! .
